Apocalyptic Passion
Adrenaline coursing through his veins, Alejandro led Ava through the panicked crowd, dodging flailing bodies and flying debris. The air was thick with the acrid stench of smoke, and the deafening blare of the sirens sent shockwaves through his skull.
"This way, hurry!" he shouted, tugging Ava's hand as they darted towards the exit. The doorway was jammed with people, all frantically pushing and shoving to escape. Alejandro felt Ava's grip tighten, her nails digging into his skin.
"I'm scared, Alejandro!" she cried, her voice barely audible over the chaos.
He turned to face her, gripping her shoulders firmly. "Look at me, Ava. You're going to be okay, I promise. Just stay close to me, alright?"
She nodded, her eyes glistening with tears. Alejandro could see the terror written all over her face, but he was determined to get her to safety. Tightening his hold on her hand, he led the way, pushing through the frantic crowd and out into the eerily silent campus.
The once lively scene was now a war zone. Smoke billowed from nearby buildings, and the ground trembled beneath their feet. Ava let out a terrified whimper, and Alejandro pulled her close, shielding her with his body.
"We need to find somewhere safe," he said, his voice low and steady. "I won't let anything happen to you, Ava. Trust me."
