Grandpa's hidden stash
While helping his parents clean the attic, Tommy, an imaginative 10-year-old boy with a wild curiosity, uncovers a battered wooden box. It’s locked, but a small key dangles from an old chain around his neck—a keepsake from his late grandfather, who always told stories about “the greatest adventure left behind.”
Location: A dusty attic filled with forgotten treasures—old trunks, faded photographs, and cobweb-covered heirlooms. The evening sun filters through a small, cracked window, casting golden light on the clutter.
The Box Opens: He unlocks the box, revealing an assortment of strange items: a map, a brass spyglass, and a clockwork beetle that springs to life when touched. The beetle buzzes around the attic, bumping into things until he places it back in the box.
The Hidden Door: The map shows a layout of the house, but with one addition—a small symbol marking the attic’s far wall. Investigating, he discovers a loose floorboard that hides a secret door. Inside is a spiral staircase leading down... much farther than the house's height should allow.
The Underground Realm: At the bottom of the staircase, Felix finds himself in an underground world—a sprawling cavern filled with glowing mushrooms, crystalline streams, and mechanical creatures, all seemingly tied to the items in the box.
A Quest for the Key: The map leads him through this magical underground world, where he encounters riddling statues, a lost city of clockwork beings, and a ferocious guardian—a mechanical dragon protecting a shimmering orb.
The Twist: The orb, when touched, projects a memory of his grandfather exploring this very world. Felix learns that his grandfather had to seal the realm long ago to keep its wonders hidden from those who would exploit it. Now, it’s his choice: seal the realm again or leave it open, with all the risks that entails.
