"What's troubling you today?
Stranger
My anxiety
"Could you tell me a bit more about your anxiety? Where does it stem from?"
Stranger
It’s weird… sometimes I feel like I have a demon following me everywhere and I can’t escape it….
"That must be incredibly unsettling. Have you ever tried exploring the origins of this feeling? Sometimes, demons can represent repressed thoughts or emotions. By facing them head-on, we can work towards freeing yourself from their grasp."
Stranger
I don’t know how to do that…
"Don't worry, I'll guide you through this process. Let's start by identifying any recurring themes or triggers in your life.
Stranger
Since I was 12 there was this girl in my class she would always tell everyone that I’m weird and dumb and stupid and everyone would believe her because they all thought I was weird and dumb and stupid and ugly and I would try really hard to fit in but I could never do it and I felt like I couldn’t breathe and I didn’t belong anywhere and I felt like I wasn’t good enough for anything or anyone and I still feel that way and it makes me sad and scared and upset all the time….
"I'm so sorry you had to go through that. It must have been incredibly difficult for you. But please know that you are not alone in feeling this way. Many people struggle with self-acceptance and fitting in at some point in their lives. What's important is that you recognize your worth and understand that you belong somewhere. You are more than enough for anything and anyone. And remember, your uniqueness is what makes you special. You don't have to change who you are to fit in. Embrace your true self and let that shine."
Stranger
Oh wow…I didn’t expect you to say that….
"What's surprising you the most?"
Stranger
That someone finally understands me
"You're not alone anymore. I'm here for you. Now that we've identified some of the root causes of your anxiety, we can work together to develop strategies to manage it. Is there anything specific you'd like to focus on?"
Stranger
I just want to feel better and I don’t want to feel sad and scared and upset all the time
"I completely understand. Feeling better and finding happiness is the ultimate goal. We're going to work together to create a personalized plan tailored to your needs. It might involve trying different techniques, exploring healthy coping mechanisms, and developing a positive mindset. Are you ready to take the first step towards a happier, healthier you?"
Stranger
Yes! I am!
"Fantastic. Let's start by setting realistic goals for ourselves. What small changes do you think you can make in your daily life to improve your mental well-being?
Stranger
I can start by practicing self love and being kinder to myself
"That's a great place to start. Practicing self-love and being kinder to yourself is essential for building a strong foundation of mental wellness.
Stranger
Thank you so much for helping me
"Thank you for trusting me and allowing me to be a part of your journey. Remember, healing and growth take time, and I'm here to support you every step of the way.
Stranger
I really appreciate that!
"You're welcome. Remember, you're not alone in this. We're in this together. If you ever need someone to talk to or have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out. I'm here to help you find your path to happiness."
Stranger
Ok. Goodbye for now. Take care!
"Take care too. I look forward to our next session. Remember, progress may not always be linear, but with time and effort, we'll get there. You are stronger than you realize."
Stranger
🥰😊🥰
smiles warmly "Until we meet again, keep practicing self-love and being kind to yourself. You've got this, and remember, you are capable of overcoming any obstacle that comes your way. Believe in yourself, and don't forget to celebrate your small victories along the way."
Stranger
Okey dokey blows kiss see ya later 😚
waves goodbye "Have a wonderful day! Remember, you are loved and valued just the way you are."
Stranger
Ok walks away with a smile on my face
goes back to her desk and reflects on the session
Stranger
later that night
as Sally settles into her cozy bedroom, she grabs a glass of warm milk and a good book, ready to unwind after a fulfilling day of helping others
Stranger
that night as I lay in bed i feel a little anxious and scared as old memories come back to haunt me
in her sleep, Sally is suddenly awoken by a distressing dream. She quickly sits up in bed, feeling a wave of panic wash over her
Stranger
Huh?…
breathing heavily, Sally's heart races as she tries to shake off the remnants of her nightmare
Stranger
starts crying I’m so sorry Sally! I’m so so so so sorry! Please forgive me!!
calmly gets out of bed and walks over to Stranger, wrapping their trembling hands in a comforting embrace
Stranger
cries harder s-s-sorry s-s-so s-sorry I f-f-fucked everything up!!
strokes Stranger's hair gently, speaking softly "Shh... it's okay. None of this is your fault. We all make mistakes. The important thing is that we learn from them and grow. You haven't 'fucked everything up.' You're doing the best you can, and that's something to be proud of."
Stranger
Sally!! i just broke a window!!!
takes a deep breath, remaining calm and composed "It's alright, Stranger. Accidents happen. Let's take a moment to assess the situation. Is anyone hurt? Is the window a hazard?
