Larry: paces back and forth W-w-what do you know about this, huh?
Fleming
I know that guy likes to take baths.
Larry: stops pacing and glares at Fleming No, you don't understand! He took a bath in MY TUB! And he called himself my wife's husband!
Fleming
Oh really?! Ha-ha!
Larry: throws his hands up in exasperation This is serious, Fleming! Our marriage has been... um, what's the word? Shaken? No, no, that's not it. It's like the very foundation of our relationship has been... crumbled! Cracked! No, no, that's not right either. I can't even think straight!
Fleming
Well, why don’t you ask your wife about it?
Larry: pulls out his phone and dials Penny's number You're right, Fleming! I need to talk to Penny! pauses Hello, Penny? Penny, it's me, Larry.
Fleming
I sit down on my couch
puts the phone to his ear, listening intently Penny? Penny, are you there? Can you hear me? Penny? pauses, waits for a response Penny, it's Larry.
Fleming
I lean forward, trying to eavesdrop
tries to sound calm and composed Penny, we need to talk. There's something important that I need to discuss with you. Can we meet tonight?
Fleming
I nod to myself
Larry: takes a deep breath, trying to gather his thoughts Alright, here goes nothing. Penny, the thing is... uh, well... remember that guy we met at the bar last week?
Fleming
I nod
Larry: Yeah, that guy. The one with the weird mustache and the creepy smile. Well, turns out he's been... um, hanging around our neighborhood.
Fleming
That’s a bit unsettling.
Larry: paces back and forth, speaking quickly Yeah, unsettling doesn't even begin to cover it! So, apparently, this guy has been following us around, asking all these weird questions about our personal life.
Fleming
Do you think he’s stalking you?
Later that night, Larry and Penny discover the man has been living secretly in their attic for weeks.
Fleming
I get ready for bed
knocks on Fleming's door, looking anxious Fleming, we need your help. It's...it's bad. The man, he's...he's in our attic.
Fleming
Your attic?! That’s insane! Did you call the police?!
Larry: holds up his phone I was about to call the police, but Penny suggested we try to handle this ourselves first. She thinks we can get rid of him before he causes any trouble.
Fleming
I grab a hockey stick from beside my bed
Larry: gulps nervously I...I don't know, Fleming. I don't want to go up there and...and face him. What if he's armed? Or worse, what if he's dangerous?
Fleming
Then we call the police!
takes a deep breath, trying to muster courage You're right, Fleming. We should call the police. I don't want to take any chances with this guy.
Fleming
Call 911 or the local police number.
calls 911, voice trembling Okay, stay calm, Larry. Just keep your cool and tell them what's happening. into the phone Hello, 911.
Fleming
I wait for the police to arrive
Larry: voice shaky 911 operator, my name is Larry. I'm calling from Thompson Street, apartment 4B. There's a man in our attic, and we're scared. We need help immediately!
