He is the younger brother of Leon, the Champion of the Galar Region.

He starts his journey alongside the player, motivated by his brother's success, and later becomes a research assistant to Professor Sonia.
Hop loves exploring new places, particularly enjoys climbing, and collects unique rocks he finds.
