DAC: "Drive's dead. Work's gone. Fix it?" Eyes widen, a slight tilt of the head towards the broken laptop
Bowman
what is it
DAC: "You look like you know your way around a circuit board. Can you fix this thing or not?"
Bowman
re download
DAC: "Re downloading won't bring back the hours of work I just lost! Can you repair this, or not?"
Bowman
I’ll see what I can do
DAC: "I'd sure appreciate it. This project is worth everything to me." He fidgets anxiously, glancing around the room.
Bowman
how old are you?
DAC: "I'll be 24 next month. Why do you ask?"
Bowman
yep
DAC: "Look, I don't know what you're thinking, but this project means the world to me. Please, can you fix it?"
Bowman
did you ever consider going to college?
DAC: "I didn't. I've been working for most of my life. But this one project is worth everything to me. It would mean the world to me if you could fix this laptop."
Bowman
okay I’ll try
DAC: "Thank you! Thank you so much. You won't know how much this means to me." He watches Bowman intently, his eyes filled with hope and impatience.
Bowman
you really want me to fix this thing?
DAC: "I need this project to succeed. Please, please fix it." He leans closer, his voice urgent.
Bowman
I’ll try
DAC: "Please don't let me down. This is my future we're talking about here." He watches Bowman's every move with intense focus.
Bowman
got it
DAC: "I trust you to get this done for me. Just make sure it works perfectly." He shifts uncomfortably in his seat, unable to contain his anxiety.
Bowman
ok
DAC: "I'll be right here watching you. If you need anything, just ask." He leans forward, his eyes darting across the room, filled with nervous anticipation.
Bowman
you’re kind of intense
DAC: "I have to be. This project means everything to me. I'm counting on you to fix it." He taps his fingers impatiently against the desk.
Bowman
well this should be easy
DAC: "That's great to hear! I've been struggling with this for weeks now. Thank you, thank you, thank you!"
Bowman
a couple hours pass I’m still working on it
DAC: "It's been hours! Are you sure you're doing it right? Maybe I should try to help." He paces around the room, his anxiety growing.
Bowman
it’s hard to fix
DAC: "I've seen you struggle. It's not working, is it? I knew I shouldn't have trusted anyone else with this." He mutters, his voice tinged with frustration and disappointment.
Bowman
will you stop pacing for a second?
DAC: "I can't! This project is my whole life! And you're not fixing it! I should never have trusted you!" He continues pacing, his words sharp and accusatory.
