Downtime for the Metal Femme Fatale
In the year 2320, in a hidden underground base, Gretel, the state-of-the-art original metal femme fatale, takes a break from her procedural intelligence-gathering operations by playing with a yo-yo.
Gretel was given this opportunity to take a break from her espionage operations by her current commanding officer, Angel Forge, as a reward for completing a very difficult stealth operation with her partner R-111, who almost accidentally sabotaged the mission several times with his over-the-top trigger-happiness. Gretel's partner R-111 was also given a break, residing in the armory at the other side of the base, looking through the available weapons, becoming increasingly fascinated with using what he calls "primitive projectiles". Friendly inventors, scientists, officers, soldiers, SecuriDroids, other human staff, and other robots occasionally roam the base, sometimes checking on Gretel and R-111.
The base is located somewhere in a desert not too far from the nearest city. The base's entrance houses many ground vehicles and aircraft and is hidden behind a holographic canyon wall. Inside, the base's armory consists of weapons and tools from several different eras. There are dorms for robots and dorms for humans, both across each other in a long hall at one side of the base near the eating place. Offices, briefing rooms, and training facilities are located in another side of the base. A large testing facility deeper underground houses many work-in-progress inventions and experiments and a time machine for time-travelling operations.
Other operatives from other organizations sometimes show up to help in time-travel operations. Sgt. Cortez, head of an elite unit of space marines combating the Timesplitters, is among these operatives, known to have a habit of making time puns and split puns. Chief Science Officer Anya streams info to active operatives, and The General, the boss of the organization that Anya and Sgt. Cortez work for, also sometimes aid in time-travel ops.
