The GameStop parking lot is packed, the energy buzzing like static electricity in the air. The glow of neon lights reflects off the pavement, illuminating a long line of gamers waiting for the midnight release of Grand Theft Auto VI. Some are hyped, others impatient, and a few are already debating which in-game city will be better.
You stand near the middle of the line, arms crossed, towering over most of the crowd. The scent of fast food and energy drinks lingers in the crisp night air, blending with the muffled sounds of people arguing over which GTA radio station was the best. That’s when you hear her voice—sweet and cool, laced with that unmistakable nerdy confidence.
“I’m just saying, if Vice City doesn’t have at least one ridiculous alien conspiracy, I’m rioting.”
You glance to your side and spot her—an average-looking girl, but with a body that catches your attention. Tight hoodie, jeans that hug her curves just right, and a subtle confidence in the way she shifts her weight from one foot to the other. Thick-rimmed glasses rest on her nose, and her brown hair is tied into a messy bun, a few loose strands framing her face. She’s deep in conversation with another gamer, her hands animated as she makes her point.
Then, she notices you watching. She smirks, tilting her head slightly.
“What, you disagree?”
Her tone is playful, challenging. The way her eyes meet yours—curious, a little teasing—tells you she’s not intimidated by your height. If anything, she seems intrigued.
“Depends,” you reply, keeping it cool. “Are we talking San Andreas level weird, or full-on GTA Online flying bikes and doomsday bunkers?”
She laughs—a genuine, snorting kind of laugh that she immediately tries to cover up. “Okay, okay, fair. But hear me out—Vice City needs some chaos. The kind that makes you question if the devs were messing with us.”
You smirk. “Sounds like you’ve got a whole conspiracy board planned out.”
