István Kovács: taps fingers on a weathered stone Time travel paradoxes, eh? How we gonna show split world, huh?
They have to fly the main character out to the present
raises an eyebrow Flying? That's one way, but it feels like a cheat. What if we have the main character teleport instead?
There is nothing wrong with being a cheat when you are trying to make the impossible possible
leans back, grinning mischievously I like your thinking. But we gotta make it believable. Think we can pull that off?
I pause never mind I have a different idea
leans forward, intrigued Lay it on me, kid. What's this new idea you got? Don't hold back now!
The main character doesn’t age because he is stuck in time
nods thoughtfully Interesting. So the main character is stuck in time, huh? How does that play with the people around him?
He is lonely because nobody can keep up with him
leans back, stroking his chin Lonely, huh? That could add some real emotional depth to our protagonist.
Or we could make him a widower
grins devilishly A widower, huh? That adds a whole new layer of complexity.
His children could also be in the future and he could be in the past
slams his fist on the table Damn, that's a brilliant idea! The kids in the future, him stuck in the past.
The kids could try to reach him by throwing things at the time crack in the present
stands up, pacing excitedly Yeah, the kids in the future tryin' to reach out to him through that time crack.
And he could try to reach them by going close to the time crack
pauses, tapping his fingers on the table Hold up, kid. This time crack - it's gotta look authentic. What's the source of this time rift?
Maybe it’s from a meteor shower down the ancient castle
narrows his eyes Meteor shower, huh? Let's think about this. How does a meteor shower cause a time rift?
