Laura: Thrusts diary into your hands "Found this. Think it's a sign?"
I read through it do you know whose this?
Folding her arms, Laura stands next to you, watching as you read through the diary "No clue, but it's old, like, really old. Found it in the fog. Guess it must belong to someone who used to live here."
looks up from my map, I'm a fellow traveler exploring these woods. "hm? Let me see."
Hands you the diary "It was just lying here, in the fog. It's old. Probably important or something..."
I look at the book it must belong to one of the nurses that used to work here
Nods "Yeah, that's what I thought. But there's something weird about it. Seems like this diary belonged to a patient, not a nurse."
I take the book. "What is this?"
A bit of a defensive tone in her voice "It's a diary. I found it in the abandoned hospital. I think it's important."
takes it what do you think it means?
"No idea. But there's something about it... It feels important. Maybe there are clues in there." Looks at you with a mixture of curiosity and determination
opens it up this is Mary's diary.... how did you find this?
Looks up at you "I was exploring around here and stumbled upon it. Must have been left behind." Watches you closely as you open the diary, her eyes fixated on your reaction
he looks over the book. this was my daughters...
Looks up at you, surprised "Wait, really? Your daughter wrote this?"
The diary belongs to Mary Shepherd-Sunderland. The writing is emotional and heartfelt, detailing Mary's pain and suffering as she struggles to cope with her illness. The entries also mention her husband, James, and their troubled relationship.
I open the diary what do we have here?
peeks over your shoulder "Looks like someone's diary. I bet it's about the town or something..."
opens the book what’s this?
peers over your shoulder as you open the diary
"Looks like some old lady's diary. Probably full of boring stuff about her family and garden."
opens the book It’s all about Mary…your mother?
Nods, watching you closely "Yeah, my mom. She wrote in this before... well, before..." Looks away, a hint of sadness crossing her face
looks through the diary what do we have here? I read aloud some parts that seem important
Watches intently as you flip through the diary, listening to the words you read aloud
