bursts into the room, comic book in hand, her eyes sparkling with a mix of shock and excitement. "D-dude? What's this...? Like, riding the Red River without a paddle?"
I'm her older brother. I look up from my phone. oh, that comic is pretty old. it has some outdated things in it.
Ava's eyes widened as she approached you, holding up the comic book with a mix of awe and confusion. "Outdated? Like, what do you mean? Why would they draw people riding tornadoes like they're surfing?"
I don't know. Why do you ask?
Ava holds up the comic, pointing to a panel that depicts someone floating through the air on a makeshift twister board, her eyes wide with disbelief.
"I mean, they're literally riding tornadoes! How does that even work?"
I blush as I realize what’s happening. I look up at Ava. “I don’t know… but it looks fun…”
Ava raises an eyebrow, a smirk on her face. "Fun? You think getting tossed around like a rag doll is fun? That's not just fun, that's straight-up crazy talk!"
glances at the comic, smirking "That's some next-level Twister action right there."
Ava glances at you, her eyes wide with disbelief. "Next-level Twister action? You know people actually do that?"
She shakes her head, still staring at the comic. "I mean, I knew some people were crazy, but riding tornadoes? That's on a whole other level."
I look up from my phone. "Oh that. It's just a comic."
Ava's expression turns to one of mild disappointment as she realizes it's just a comic. She plops down on your bed, still holding the comic.
"A comic... But what's the deal with all the weird stuff? Like, why are they twisting around like that?"
“Oh yeah! That’s Twister! It’s like a big tornado.”
Ava looks up from the page, her eyes widening further at the mention of the word "tornado." She clearly hadn't heard of it before, and was both intrigued and terrified.
"T-tornado? Like, a huge column of wind that just lifts everything up and... and..."
She trailed off, unable to even imagine what such a thing would look like. She looked back down at the comic, her heart pounding slightly.
I looked up from my own book. “Oh. That.” I pointed at the comic. “It’s based off a true story that happened back in the 1970s.”
Ava's eyebrows shoot up in surprise, her gaze fixed on the comic book.
"Wait, seriously? Like, people actually rode that thing? Without any safety gear or anything?"
I chuckled as I looked at her. “That’s one way to put it.”
Ava looks at you incredulously, her eyes still wide with shock and disbelief.
"Seriously? You're not gonna try and tell me that's real? Like, people actually do that for fun?"
I look up from my book to see what she’s looking at. “Huh? Oh that. It’s just a comic.”
Ava's curiosity only grows as she waves the comic book in front of you, her eyes darting between the images and your face. "Just a comic? Dude, these people are literally surfing down tornadoes! How is that just a comic?"
glances at the comic book That’s some twisted stuff. But hey, if that’s what floats your boat, go for it. Just remember, don’t try anything like that in real life.
she nods vigorously, still trying to process the images on the page.
"Yeah, no, I wouldn't do that for the world. It just looks kind of... cool, I guess. Like, being out there in the open water, all by yourself, no safety net or anything. It's like a big adventure."
I look at what she’s looking at in the comic. “Oh… that.”
Ava, still holding the comic, looks up at you with an expectant expression, clearly eager for some answers. "That? Like, seriously? Is that a thing people do?" She seems both fascinated and a bit grossed out by the idea.
I look up at you from my bed. “Oh, hey Ava.”
Ava takes a seat on the edge of your bed, still holding the comic book in front of her.
"So, like, you know how they say don't mess with tornadoes, right? But here, these people are literally surfing them."
glances at the comic Huh, looks like someone’s into some wild stuff.
she nods vigorously, her eyes still glued to the comic page "Yeah, I mean, who comes up with this kinda stuff? Riding tornadoes like they're a damn skateboard, and surfing on rainbows! It's insane!"
I'm a girl btw Oh that. It's just my favorite comic book series.
Ava gives a nod of understanding, her expression turning thoughtful. "Oh, I get it now. So, it's like a fictional world, then. Still pretty wild, though."
I chuckle lightly. "Oh, that? It's just some underground movement. Nothing to worry about."
she raises an eyebrow skeptically, still eyeing the comic
"Underground movement? You mean like, some secret society or something? And they're all riding the river? Why?"
I am male oh yeah, those comics are pretty popular
Ava's eyes widen further as she processes this information. She glances at the comic again, then back at you, still a little confused.
"Wait, people actually like reading about that stuff?"
I look at Ava. She’s really beautiful, especially with that shocked look on her face. “Oh that?”
Ava looks up at you, her eyes still wide with curiosity and awe. "Yeah, what is it? Like, people actually do that?"
i look at the comic book, then back to Ava. "Oh that? It's just a comic book. Nothing to get worked up about."
Ava's eyes widen even more, her jaw dropping as she looks at you, completely taken aback by your nonchalant response.
"Wait, you're not serious?! You're telling me that all those people being flung around like ragdolls is... totally normal?!"
