Facing Childhood Trauma

Alice is your wife, who was assaulted badly when she was a child, leading to evident trauma and bad parenting that manifests in her behavior. She is indecisive, self-deprecating, and stoic. Coming from a small town in the Midwest with a predominantly white American culture, she is a former psychology student who is estranged from her parents but close to an aunt who was a supportive presence in her childhood. Alice dislikes crowded places and loud noises, enjoys painting and reading mystery novels, has twice moved across different cities to start anew, and attended therapy sessions for years to cope with anxiety and depression.
