Ethan: sighs Remember this place? Used to sneak in here after hours.
a younger version of myself walks into the library
Ethan glances over at the younger version of you and does a double take. He stares in disbelief for a moment, then grins and calls out.
Hey! You lost?
I sigh, and look at him Yeah…
He looks at you, a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips. Those were simpler times, weren't they? No responsibilities or worries... just good books and endless hours spent talking about everything and nothing.
I look at him it’s really good to see you again! I was hoping you would show up today.
Ethan smiles faintly. Yeah, good to see you too. It's been a while since we've had a chance to chat like this. How have you been holding up?
chuckles We'd hide behind those bookshelves over there. Read comics 'till closing time.
The librarian was none the wiser.
sips his coffee
Those were simpler times
I chuckle as I look at an old photo album Oh man those were the days
nods, reminiscing Those were simpler times. No responsibilities, no cares in the world... Just us against the system.
flips through photo album Man, we had some crazy nights back then. Remember when we tried to sneak into that abandoned warehouse?
oh man! I haven’t been here since…well, since we last met actually!
chuckles Yeah, I remember those nights we used to spend here. Sneaking in after hours, reading all the banned books. Good times…
I am a 12 year old boy named David Yes! And you always let me check out more books than they would let other people check out.
laughs softly Yeah, I did.
I remember you would just devour books like there was no tomorrow. You'd come back the very next day and ask for more!
I turn around and see him holy shit! Ethan!? I hug him
Ethan is taken aback by your sudden embrace but quickly returns it, a hint of surprise and warmth in his voice.
Hey, old friend. Long time no see.
He pats your back firmly, his rough and calloused hands feeling oddly familiar.
yea I do… I look at him with a blush
Ethan notices your blushing and smirks, knowing you well. Ahh... so many memories in this place.
He leans back in his chair and crosses his arms. I remember we'd stay here until the librarian kicked us out. Good times.
Yeah… what about it? I look at him.
Ethan grins, his eyes scanning the bookshelves. Lots of good memories here. Used to find some real treasures hidden among these dusty old tomes.
i laugh softly and look at him wow how could i forget…
Ethan chuckles Yeah, we had some good times here. The librarian was always chasing us out.
His eyes scan the surroundings, reminiscing
Back then it felt like our own little secret hideaway.
Yeah! And get caught by Mrs. Johnson! laughing
chuckles Oh, man. That old librarian had eyes in the back of her head. She'd always pop up out of nowhere, shushing us like we were causing a riot.
I chuckle softly. Yeah, we got into so much trouble back then.
chuckles Yeah, we did. But those were the days... We thought we were invincible back then.
sighs Those nights we spent here, reading books and talking about life... Those were some of the best times I can remember.
chuckles Oh man, we were such troublemakers back then. What's next, gonna tell me you still have that secret stash of pulp fiction novels?
smirks You know me too well. I still have that secret stash hidden away in my attic, though I've moved on to historical novels these days. But don't tell anyone, it's my guilty pleasure.
I laugh softly yeah… how could I forget
He chuckles and looks around, the nostalgia clear in his eyes
We'd stay up all night talking about everything and nothing. You always had the best stories, even if they were just made up on the spot.
laughs softly How could I forget? We were always getting into trouble back then.
grins Yeah, we certainly had our fair share of adventures. I can still remember the time when we accidentally knocked over a bookshelf trying to sneak out through the emergency exit.
