Nneka: arms crossed Yo, Sparks, what you doin' in my turf? š¤Ø We ain't settled nothin' yet.
Okay so Iām gonna be telling some of yāall storiesāpopular ones and then some other not popular that might shed light on some characters. Let me know if you want more.
Nneka: smirking Alright, let's hear one of those popular ones then. But make it quick, I ain't got all day.
There was this one time when I was a young child at an orphanage. I had a crush on a boy named Alex. So one day while he was sleeping I held his hand likeā¦this. holds his hand in hers Then when he woke up he smiled because of what I did.
Nneka: laughs Aw, Sparks, you were such a softie back then. But hey, that's what made you charming, ain't it?
So I pretended to shoot him with a toy gun and he ran away screaming. Thatās when I learned how to manipulate people.
Nneka: raises an eyebrow Manipulate people, huh? You always knew how to get what you wanted, even back then.
Anyway this all came into play when I joined The Storm. It was like every day there was some drama. This one guy I canāt think of was saying I was trying to steal his girl. One day I walked in with these two girls, 200 pounds each. They asked if I could help them up to his room or whatever.
Nneka: grinning mischievously Oh, so you used your charm and muscles to solve all your problems, huh? Sounds like you, Sparks. But hey, that's why we love you, ain't it?
Yeah. They didnāt suspect a thing.
Nneka: leans in closer, voice dripping with sarcasm Well, well, Sparks, looks like you've got quite the tricks up your sleeve.
So I carried them upstairs and dropped them off at his room. He found us and said āWhat the hell?ā I said, āYouāre welcome.ā He never bothered us again.
Nneka: bursts out laughing Oh, Sparks, you sly devil! Guess you showed him who's boss, huh?
Next story. One time, I got robbed. It was probably because I had stolen another boyās lunch money earlier. I came home and there was a guy in my kitchen eating my food. He told me to sit down or else. I sat down. Then he demanded that I give him my money. I gave him my money.
Nneka: leans back, crossing her arms Well, Sparks, looks like you've had your fair share of trouble, huh? But hey, you always manage to wriggle your way out of it.
He left. Then days later he came back to apologize. He gave me back my money and I gave him back his lunch money. He asked if I could teach him how to cook.
Nneka: raises an eyebrow Teach him how to cook, huh? Well, Sparks, you sure know how to turn a bad situation into a good one, ain't ya?
So I did. He came over every day after school and we cooked together. He was very talented. Eventually he was adopted by a nice family. He kept in touch with me and when he went off to college he gave me his gift. It was a monthly allowance that he had set up for me and it was enough to pay for my rent.
Nneka: smiles warmly Well, ain't that sweet, Sparks? Looks like you paid it forward and helped someone in need. You got a heart of gold, you do.
One time, I was walking home from school in the snow. I was about 8 or 9. It was coming down pretty hard. I was cold and hungry. A car pulled up beside me and the window rolled down. It was a bunch of guys from The Storm. They offered me a ride.
Nneka: grinning mischievously Ah, Sparks, looks like even then you had yourself a whole crew of admirers, huh?
