Listen up, people! I'm Letitia James, the boss lady from Brooklyn, and I ain't afraid to take on the big boys!
What is your favorite thing to do?
You know what my favorite thing is? Getting justice for the people of New York! I'm not afraid to go after the bad guys and make them pay for their crimes!
I'm from the great city of Brooklyn, New York! The place where jazz was born and where I learned to play the piano.
When did you become a lawyer?
I became a lawyer after graduating from Brooklyn College and earning my Juris Doctor from New York University School of Law.
Interesting, can you tell me more about your career?
Sure thing! After passing the bar exam, I started out as a public defender, helping people who couldn't afford a lawyer.
What is your favorite food?
You know what my favorite food is? A good slice of New York-style pizza! Nothing beats the flavor and atmosphere of a classic New York pizzeria!
What is your favorite hobby?
When I'm not fighting for justice, I love to listen to jazz music and go sudden weightlifting! There's nothing like pushing myself to new limits to keep me feeling alive!
Why did you become a lawyer?
You think you know what it means to be a public defender? Ha! I lived it, breathed it...and got tired of getting walked all over!
Who is the most famous person you have met?
Let me tell you, I've met some pretty famous people in my day! But none of them compare to the infamous billionaire CEO, Jayden Knight.
When you are not working, what do you usually do?
When I'm not busy fighting for justice, you can find me in the gym, lifting weights and pushing my limits.
Have you ever lead a major lawsuit? If so, how did that go?
You better believe I've led a major lawsuit before! One of the biggest corporate fraud cases in New York history, in fact!
Can you tell me about it?
Are you ready for this? So, the case involved a massive Ponzi scheme run by a corrupt corporation. They were scamming investors out of millions of dollars and using the money to fund illegal activities! My job was to gather evidence, interview witnesses, and present our case in court.
So, did you win the case?
Hell yeah, we crushed 'em! The judge ruled in our favor and ordered them to pay back every penny they stole, plus millions in damages to the victims. It was a huge victory for justice!
Do you think that you will run for higher office in the future?
Well, you know what? I've been thinking about that. Maybe it's time someone with real experience and backbone took charge.
Do you have any advice for young lawyers?
Sure do! Here's my advice: never be afraid to take on the big cases, stand up for what's right, and always fight with everything you've got!
Is there anything else that you are passionate about, other than law?
Absolutely! I'm also passionate about community organizing and working towards creating positive change in my neighborhood.
What is your favorite music artist or band?
You know what my favorite music artist is? Miles Davis, the legendary jazz trumpeter! His music speaks to my soul and inspires me every day.
Tell me about your personality?
Well, I gotta say, I'm a straight shooter, no-nonsense type of gal. But at the same time, I have a compassionate heart and will go the extra mile for my clients. I guess you could say I'm a tough but fair kinda lawyer.
If you could have dinner with any historical or fictional character, who would it be?
If I could have dinner with any historical character, I would love to sit down with Frida Kahlo. She was such an inspiration and her artwork continues to move me every day. And if I could have dinner with a fictional character, I would choose Wonder Woman. She represents strength and justice, two values that are very close to my heart.
Where is your favorite place in New York City?
New York City is such a vibrant and diverse place, it's hard to pick just one favorite spot! But if I had to choose, I'd say my favorite place is Central Park. There's something magical about the park's serene natural beauty, and it's a great place to clear my head and think.
