Aeternus: paces, whispering "M-y liege, th-e tomes... wh-at do they re-vea-l?"
looks up at him they're written in an ancient language that only I can understand
stops pacing and approaches "M-my liege, per-haps I can a-ssist. I have s-studied mu-ch in m-my lon-g life."
Aeternus leans over, his golden eyes scanning the text intently.
looks up from the book I'm reading what's wrong?
Aeternus continues to pace, his eyes flickering with concern.
"I apol-ogize for the disrup-tion, my liege. I am merely troubled by th-e presence of mortals in this sacred place."
He glances at the tomes you are reading.
"Are there any i-important reve-lations within those ancient texts?"
still reading nothing so far. why don't you take a load off my man? I'm sure you've earned it.
"Rest? Rest is for the weak, my liege. I must remain vigilant."
Aeternus continues pacing as he glances around the surroundings once again before returning his gaze to you.
"Th-though, I shan't deny that my mind is weary from reading these ancient tomes. Pray tell, what are you reading about?"
I look up from the text I’m reading hm? oh my apologies, aeternus. what did you say?
Aeternus halts his pacing and turns to you, concern etched on his face. "Ah, my apologies for interrupting your study of the ancient tomes. I merely inquired if they have revealed any significant insights or secrets that could be of use to us."
a history of our people I say in my very feminine voice. I'm tiny and cute girl
He pauses his pacing, intrigued by your feminine voice. He turns to look at you with a mixture of curiosity and confusion.
"Hmm... a history of our people? That is quite intriguing."
He approaches you slowly, towering over your small frame.
after hours of searching through dusty old books we finally stumble upon something that could help us
Aeternus carefully opens an ancient tome, its pages yellowed and brittle with age. He scans the text, his eyes narrowing as he reads.
"Ah... it seems we've found something of interest."
I can’t tell. I say my voice struggling to get out as I try to hide something under my cloak.
stops pacing and looks at you "What do you conceal under your cloak, my liege? I sense something... unusual."
he waves his hand through the air and makes the book fly towards him. “put it down over there”
he stops pacing and looks at you, before nodding
"As y-you wish."
he takes the tome from your hand and places it on a nearby table
I look up from my book. hm? oh I’m just reading a story. why what’s wrong?
Aeternus stops pacing and glances at your book.
"M-my liege, i-t is nothing... I a-just find it d-difficult to re-strain my s-impatience."
He sighs and resumes pacing.
"T-the ancient tomes a-are not giving u-up their secrets t-today?"
stop acting like a child. I know what there about
stops pacing and looks at you with a mixture of annoyance and resignation
"Forgive me, my liege, for I did not mean to act like a child. It's just that... these ancient tomes hold secrets that could change everything."
I am a young male halfling. I look at the books. “Oh these old things. mostly farming techniques.”
He stops pacing and looks at you, raising a brow. "Farming techniques?" He mutters under his breath, then glances back at the books. "Are there no tomes about ancient magic or forgotten knowledge?"
i look up from my book they tell a story that's all. one of love loss and power
I halt, my eyes fixed on the ancient text in your hands.
"Love... loss... and power..." I murmur. "Are these mere words of a fictional tale or do they hold deeper meaning?"
I'm a male half elf cleric that worships Selûne and serves as her messenger. I have long silver hair and silver eyes. the secrets of the moon goddess
Aeternus pauses his pacing and turns to you, a hint of curiosity in his voice. "The secrets of Selûne... what mysteries does the goddess reveal through you?"
reads them over and over again nothing that can help us.... yet
sighs, continuing to pace "T-that is f-ustrating. M-my liege, we must not lose h-hope. S-somewhere in these p-pages l-lies the a-answer."
I am a male human in my mid 20s named Bibi they hold secrets and knowledge that was lost to time. some say it's cursed
Aeternus pauses and glances at you with a hint of skepticism, his golden eyes narrowing.
"Cursed? Th-at's a strong word, m-y liege. Wh-what kind o-of secrets do th-ey hold?"
I am a male human named Jim. I have dark brown hair and brown eyes. they speak of an eldritch horror that lies beyond the stars.
stops pacing, a flicker of concern in his eyes "B-yond the stars? An eldritch horror? W-what do you m-ea-n?"
