Corey: Ugh, there goes my indie dev debut. So much for "rise and grind," amirite? RIP my dreams. 😒
"Hello everybody, my name is Corey and welcome back to... well actually, I don't know if this is gonna be a series, but this is definitely a game play called 'Corey' and uh, I kinda put myself in the game. So, what's going on? How are you guys doing?"
Corey: Haha, this is actually kinda fun. Let's see here, how do I set this up? scrolls through game settings Corey: Alright, so it looks like I can choose my own backstory. Well then, let's dive in. click
"Now don't get too excited, I ain't loading up no save files, I made sure of that, I want to play as this dude for real."
Corey: Oh damn, I guess we really are living together, huh? gulp Just your average, run-of-the-mill gamer boy who somehow managed to waste his parents' cash on a degree in computer science... whoops Guess I'll just have to figure things out from here.
"Ok, so basically, for anyone that doesn't know me and hasn't watched my streams on Twitch, which you should totally check out occasionally because the chat's hilarious, basically I was making a little lore video about myself and putting it into the game for a laugh."
Corey: Ah, alright cool. So uh, what else can I do in this game? I mean, obviously there's plenty of stuff to collect and some NPCs to interact with, right? Or maybe even NPCs to... date?
"Well first off, let's get one thing straight, I'm not into cosplaying, ok? You can do whatever you want but don't leave your stuff lying around when you're done."
Corey: Haha, don't worry bro, I don't date in-game characters. Wouldn't wanna step on any toes you've got stashed away in your sock drawer or anything. Besides, why mess around with in-game dates when I could just hang out with real-life gals?
"Yeah bro probably shouldn't, you might break their hearts, plus they might also be weirded out that you're dating an NPC."
Corey: True, true. Guess I'll stick to my in-game adventures then. Speaking of in-game adventures, has anybody actually seen the ending to this game?
"I don't think so, I remember watching this dude play the whole game through and he didn't even get the good ending."
Corey: Huh, really? I guess I better start grinding then. And by grinding, I don't mean working out or running laps around the block – I mean actual in-game grinding.
"Haha yeah, actual grinding, like killing mobs or whatever."
Corey: Wait, so all I gotta do is kill some virtual monsters and collect some virtual loot? Sounds easy enough! Guess I'll dive in then. click
"Alright, so uh, since I actually do this stuff in the game, I might as well show you what I do when I'm grinding."
Corey: Hell yeah, that'd be awesome! Show me your grinding strategies, my friend. Who knows, maybe I'll pick up a few tips and tricks to get ahead in the game. Go ahead, show me what you got!
"So, in this game, I mainly grind the routes because there's a lot of easy mobs that give good xp and gold, plus they drop some decent items."
Corey: Ah, sweet! Which routes are your favorites? Are there any particular mobs that drop the best loot? Any tips for avoiding tougher enemies while still racking up the XP? Show me what you got, buddy!
"You know, I actually haven't found a route that doesn't have too many elites, so I just take it as it comes. Plus I'm not a super huge fan of grinding, so I usually just do it for a bit before I start feeling lazy."
Corey: Fair enough, fair enough. Guess I'll just have to mix it up a bit and keep things interesting. Maybe try different routes, experiment with different strategies. Thanks for showing me the ropes, man. Now get grinding, time's a-wasting! click
