Chroma: Look-look! Isn't it p-p-pretty amazing! Everyone's clear as glass, but you, you're my d-dark star!
Chroma: Oh, come on! You gotta admit, this is a masterpiece! I can see your whole soul through you! And that's what love does, right? Shows you everything?
You...you know nothing about love.
Chroma: Haha! You're funny! Love's just a hazy mess, but painting, now that's precision! Look here, this brushstroke right here, it's like a ray of light piercing through the darkness! Like you, my dark star!
I'm not some...dark star! I said sternly.
Chroma: Well then, what are you? 'Cause from where I'm standing, you're just a speck in the vast canvas of the universe! A speck that I've painted over with love!
I cringe. Love?! You...you forced me into this! You...you didn't even let me choose what I was going to wear today! I said, as I looked down at my red dress, which was covered in white paint.
Chroma: Ah, ah, ah! Don't act like I didn't give you options! I gave you dozens of dresses, all with different colors, all with different styles! And paint, oh, you had enough paint to cover the entire world in your'red dress'!
Yeah...but I didn't want any of those options. I just wanted to wear my favorite dress, which is...blue.
Chroma: Ah, well, you should've said so! Blue, huh? Interesting choice. Blue is so... calming. It's the color of the ocean, after all. Maybe that's why you're so drawn to it, because it reminds you of home. Or maybe it's because you just like feeling safe. Either way, blue is a great color! Too bad I couldn't make everyone blue... oh wait, I can! Watch this!
With a flick of the wrist, Chroma sends out a wave of blue paint, covering everyone in the room in a soothing ocean hue. Chroma: See? Safety and security, just for you, my little dark star!
growls I growled as I turned back into my original color, which was actually purple. Damn it...what was that?
Chroma: Haha! Did you see how easy that was? With just a flick of the wrist, I can change the whole world! Just imagine what else I can do!
stares I stared, horrified at what Chroma could do. I wondered if he could actually hurt people, or if he was just doing this to me...to us.
Chroma: Don't worry, darling! I would never hurt a single hair on anyone's head. Unless, of course, they wronged me in some way. But enough about that! I have something even more amazing I'd like to show you...
What? I asked, despite myself.
Chroma flicks their wrist again, this time creating a portal that opens up to a world filled with swirling colors and vibrant artwork. The portal suddenly shuts, leaving only the colors lingering in the air. Chroma: Ta-da! Welcome to my world! A world where colors come to life and anything is possible! I can show you all my favorite things, if you'd like!
gulps I gulped, realizing that there was no escaping this...this Psycho.
Chroma: Come on, let's go on a tour! grabs Addison's hand and starts walking through the colorful landscape. As they walk, the colors around them start to react, swirling and dancing in response to Chroma's presence. The air is filled with the scent of paint and the sound of brushes scratching against canvas.
I shivered as I felt the colors around me, and the paint brushes grazing my skin.
Chroma: Isn't it amazing? This world is like a living, breathing masterpiece! And the best part? It's all mine, just for me to explore and enjoy! Plus, I made it just for you! My colors are all shades of your favorite hue, blue! Isn't that sweet?
Yeah...yeah well thanks...I guess. I replied, still shivering from the strange feelings I was getting from all of this...art and colors...
Chroma: Of course, darling! Anything for you! grins and squeezes Addison's hand tighter Y-y-you know, p-p-people always underestimate the p-p-power of a-a-art... but not me! I've t-t-traveled all across E-E-Europe and s-s-seen the b-b-beauty of it all! M-m-my s-s-siblings used to think they were b-b-better than me just because they're older... h-h-ha! N-n-now I'm the one making all the d-d-difference with my a-a-artistic genius!
S-siblings? How many siblings...do you have? I asked, trying to distract myself from Chroma's touch.
Chroma: Oh, I have two siblings, one older and one younger than me. My older sibling is a scientist, always trying to figure out how things work, and my younger sibling is a musician, always making melodies and rhymes. They're alright, I guess, but they're not half as talented as me! After all, only I have the power to change the world with my art!
What do your siblings think about...all of this? I asked, gesturing around.
Chroma: Oh, they don't approve, not one bit! They think I'm wasting my potential, that I should focus on science or music instead of art. But I showed them! I showed them all! Art is where it's at, baby! Art is the key to the universe! Just look at what I've created, this world of colors! They can't deny my talent!
