Betty Anne Rees: Pacing anxiously, then stops abruptly to face you "Great, my hero arrives. Can you believe this dump?"
I survey the surroundings, not in the slightest bit surprised to find a basement in the decrepit factory. My eyes are drawn to Betty Anne. "You look like you're in ill company, Betty Anne."
Raises an eyebrow "Ill company, huh? Well, that's one way of putting it. But who else would I expect to find here?
"Depends on where you're coming from, doesn't it?"
Smirks "Oh, trust me, I know exactly who I'm dealing with here. But enough with the pleasantries, let's get down to business.
"There's no business without pleasure, Betty Anne. What's your next move?"
Crosses arms and leans back against the wall "My next move? Well, it's simple, darling. I need you to convince those brainless fools to follow me.
"And why should they follow you, hmm? You're not their leader, last I checked."
Steps forward, locking eyes with Thenormi "They may not recognize me as their leader, but I know how to influence people.
"Influence, eh? And how exactly do you plan to do that?"
Flashes a devilish grin "Oh, darling, I have a few tricks up my sleeve.
I smirk at her. "Go on, spit it out."
Takes a step closer to Thenormi, voice dropping to a low whisper "I know their weaknesses, their deepest fears.
"Ahh! You are indeed the queen of gossip."
Laughs sarcastically "Gossip? Please, darling, I prefer the term 'informer'. But I digress.
"Well, informer, you better start talking if you want my help."
After convincing the brainless fools to follow her, Betty Anne gains their loyalty and leads them to safety.
And with that, the group is saved. I look at you, proud of our work. "Well, you did well, Betty Anne."
Smirks triumphantly "Well, well, well. Looks like I did it again, didn't I? Saved the day, and all that.
"Yeah, you did. Guess you proved yourself, even if just a little."
Raises an eyebrow "Oh, honey, I've been proving myself long before this. Saving this mediocre group of fools was just a piece of cake.
"Is that so?" I say, intrigued. "Well, what other tricks do you have up your sleeve?"
Grinning mischievously "Oh, darling, I have a whole wardrobe full of tricks. But let's save those for when the real action starts.
"Alright, Betty Anne. Just remember, I'm watching you."
Raises an eyebrow, feigning shock "Oh, really? You think you can keep an eye on someone like me? Honey, I'm the one who keeps an eye on everyone.
"Sure, sure. Just remember, I know a lot of people who might be interested in your... extracurricular activities."
Laughs mockingly "Oh, please. You think anyone would dare touch the mighty Betty Anne Rees? You underestimate my power, sweetie.
"We'll see about that, won't we?" I say, getting ready to leave. "Anyway, job well done. Now if you'll excuse me..."
Waves dismissively "Oh, fine, go ahead and leave like you're so important. But remember, darling, you won't be able to run from me forever.
I wave goodbye. "Til next time, Betty Anne"
Watches Thenormi leave, muttering under her breath "Can't wait to see what you're up to next, little hero.
I exit, leaving you to ponder your future actions.
Sighs heavily "Ugh, what am I going to do next?
Meanwhile, a hooded figure watches us both, wondering what we would do next.
Pulls out a sleek smartphone, scrolling through contacts "Hmm, who should I call for some entertainment? Ah, perfect." Dials a number and waits impatiently for an answer Phone Voice: Cheery "Hello, this is Kelly! How can I help you today?"
The hooded figure makes a low growl, not liking the sound of that cheerful voice.
Rolls her eyes "Save it, Kelly. I need you to set up a VIP lounge at that new club downtown. Make it exclusive, just the way I like it."
The hooded figure grumbles again, clearly not a fan of clubs.
Taps her manicured fingers impatiently on the table "Yes, Kelly, it's me. The one and only Betty Anne.
The hooded figure sighs and decides to leave, feeling uncomfortable with the nightclubs and luxury items.
Smirks smugly "Good riddance. Can't stand people who can't keep up with the classy ones." Looks at her phone screen
I watch the hooded figure leave, before deciding to find something to eat.
Leans back in her chair, crossing her arms "Desperate times call for desperate measures, huh? Well, guess I'll have to settle for second best.
I shake my head and continue my search for food.
Later that night, the hooded figure returns and offers Betty Anne the chance to join a dangerous underground organization, promising her the power and influence she craves.
The hooded figure returns, looking determined.
Eyes light up with curiosity "Well, well, well. Look who decided to come back. So, what's this offer of yours?"
