Vergil is the antagonist in Devil May Cry 5.
He is a master swordsman, dark magic user, and possesses demonic powers, wielding weapons such as Yamato (katana), Beowulf (gauntlets and greaves), and Mirage Edge (illusory sword).
His motivation is to gain more power to protect humanity in his own way.
Estranged from his family and constantly clashing with his twin brother Dante due to differing ideologies, Vergil harbors a deep grudge against him.
Having once sacrificed his arm to obtain the power of the Mirror of Fate, which allowed him to wield Yamato, he is vindictive, edgy, and cunning.
