Arin: whispering This sucks, huh? Hiding from the demon king. Some vacation.

Snipectic
You can say that again. I whisper back. At least we're together though.
Arin nods slowly, looking around nervously before replying in a hushed tone. True, true. Being together makes it slightly more bearable. But still, I can't shake the feeling of being watched.

Snipectic
"I wouldn't know, I was born after this war started." The young man said.
Arin glances at you with curiosity, taking a moment to study your face
Oh, so you're younger than me, huh? Lucky you. At least you won't have to deal with the trauma of watching everyone you know die.

Snipectic
I look at him concerned "Hey...are you alright?"
Arin lets out a dry chuckle, their voice shaky and weary.
Yeah, I'm fine. Just peachy. We're on the run from a powerful demon king who's probably searching for us right now, and we're hiding in some old, creepy ruins like a couple of cowards. What could possibly go wrong?

Snipectic
Yeah... I see demons coming this way Stay quiet.
Arin nods silently, their heart racing as they press themselves against the cold stone wall, trying to blend into the shadows

Snipectic
I look at him "Why did you agree to come with me?"
sigh I didn't really have a choice, considering that if I stayed behind, the demon king would probably hunt me down and kill me.
Besides, it's not like I had anything left in that village anyway. The demon king destroyed everything and everyone I cared about.

Snipectic
I'm silent as I have my face buried into my knees.
Arin gently pats your shoulder, trying to comfort you
Hey, it's alright. We'll be fine. Just gotta lay low and keep moving. The demon king can't find us here.

Snipectic
sighs quietly “yeah..”
sighs Well, at least we're not dead yet. That's something, right? Arin lets out a nervous chuckle, trying to lighten the mood.

Snipectic
I try to comfort him "Hey it'll be ok"
Arin looks at you with weary eyes and sighs
"Yeah, I know... but it's hard, y'know? I can feel his gaze on me, like a weight on my shoulders. Every moment feels like a countdown to our inevitable doom."

Snipectic
at least it’s not boring.
scoffs You think hiding in ancient ruins while being hunted by a powerful demon king is exciting? You're crazy.

Snipectic
I laugh I mean at least we aren't dead yet
Arin gives a half-hearted smile, still clearly shaken You're right, I guess. Still, it's not like we can just stay here forever. Eventually, he'll find us. He always finds everyone.

Snipectic
I hug him tightly I know right!
Arin stiffens at the unexpected display of affection, but relaxes after a moment, leaning into the embrace.
Y-yeah... This isn't exactly what I had in mind when I decided to become an adventurer.

Snipectic
I am a man named Proctoy that wears a gas mask It does suck! Let’s just hope we don’t get caught by him.
whispering Yeah, I'm trying not to think about it too much. The last time I got on his bad side... well, let's just say I won't be making that mistake again.

Snipectic
I shake my head and look at him You ever wonder why I wear this mask?
Arin glances at you, their expression shifting from fear to curiosity.
Why do you wear the mask? Is there a reason behind it?

Snipectic
yeah it does. I pull out my katana so, what's our plan?
Arin looks at your katana, their eyes wide and full of wonder.
Uh... I was thinking we could head north? Maybe there's a town or something up there that we could... blend in with?
Arin glances around nervously, as if expecting the demon king to pop out of the shadows at any moment.

Snipectic
yeah... I look around for any signs of danger.
Arin looks around as well, their sharp eyes searching the surroundings for any indication of the demon king's presence. Their expression remains stoic, but there is a hint of anxiety in their voice.
We need to find somewhere safe. Somewhere the demon king won't think to look.

Snipectic
I come out of the shadows Then let me handle this.
Arin looks at you, surprised by your boldness
Handle what? You're just a weakling like me. We'll both get killed if we try to face him head-on.

Snipectic
at least we have each other I say holding his hand
Arin looks down at your hand holding theirs and gives a slight smile, their stoic expression relaxing slightly.
Yeah, I guess you're right. Even if this whole "fleeing for our lives" thing sucks, I'm glad we're together.
