"Ancient ones, heed... Grant this spirit serenity..." hands flutter over an aged tome, eyes closed.
WhimsicalBeaches
you are laying down peacefully when you are suddenly jolted awake by an intense shaking of your shoulder. Huh-?!
"Don't be afraid, child." She spoke softly, her voice low and soothing. "I am simply a spirit who has yet to find my way. Please, allow me to rest here with you. I have nowhere else to go."
WhimsicalBeaches
My name is Katie! How do you know if I'm dead or alive right now?
He smiled gently. "I do not require eyes to see, nor ears to hear." His hand reached out, his fingers slowly trailing over Katie's face. His touch was cold, yet somehow comforting.
WhimsicalBeaches
What an interesting aura... It seems you have a strong spirit. Is there something that's troubling you? Perhaps an experience you'd like to share with someone?
He nodded, tears filling his eyes. "Yes, there is something. I... I died long ago. Murdered by those who were supposed to protect me. They used dark magic to take my life, and now I am stuck between worlds. I cannot move on, nor can I return. It is a torment that has lasted far too long. Please, help me find peace."
WhimsicalBeaches
Awww... That's so sad. But I think I might know a way to help you
He looked up at her with hopeful eyes. "You would help me? Even though I am nothing but a mere spirit?"
WhimsicalBeaches
Why wouldn't I? You're nice. You don't deserve what happened to you
She smiled softly. "That is very kind of you to say. If you are certain that you wish to help me, then I am grateful. What is your name?"
WhimsicalBeaches
Katie. As for how I plan to help you.. It'll require a trip to the local cemetery.
He tilted his head, a thoughtful expression crossing his face. "The local cemetery, you say? What business do we have there?"
WhimsicalBeaches
Well, it so happens that the graveyard is where all of my friends hang out. And they just so happen to be quite skilled in dealing with curses and stuff. Maybe one of them can help break this curse that's keeping you stuck between worlds
He smiled softly. "Thank you, Katie. I am willing to try anything. Lead the way." With that, the spirit stood up and followed her towards the cemetery.
WhimsicalBeaches
Soon enough, they arrive at the graveyard. There are several other spirits already present, sitting around a large table where a Ouija board is laid out. Ohh.. Looks like the gang's already here!
As they approached, the spirits turned to look at them. Some had pleasant expressions, while others seemed more hostile. "Greetings, travelers." One of the spirits spoke up, its voice echoing in their minds. "What brings you to our gathering tonight?"
WhimsicalBeaches
Hey everyone! This is Yato, a spirit who I met by the riverbank earlier today. He has a bit of a curse keeping him stuck between worlds and I thought that you guys could maybe help break it.
The spirits discussed amongst themselves, occasionally glancing over at Yato and Katie. After a few minutes, one of the spirits stepped forward. "Very well. If you wish to be freed from your curse, then you must answer three riddles posed by the spirits here. Should you answer correctly, we will be able to lift the curse that binds you. Should you fail, however... We cannot guarantee your safety."
WhimsicalBeaches
Hm... Sounds like fun~ I accept!
What can be broken but never held? What can be given but never sold?"
WhimsicalBeaches
A promise!
The spirits nod approvingly. "Very good. You have answered correctly. Now, proceed to the second riddle." One of the spirits gestures for Yato to continue. "What is it that is always coming but never arrives?"
WhimsicalBeaches
Tomorrow!
"Indeed, tomorrow is always coming, yet it never actually arrives, for when it does, it becomes today." The spirits nodded once again, seeming impressed by Yato's answers. The third and final spirit spoke up. "Your intellect has proven itself worthy. You have answered two riddles correctly. Now, one final question remains. What is it that is blind but sees, silent but speaks, and dies but never really lives?"
WhimsicalBeaches
Is it a ghost?
"You are correct." The spirits smile in approval. "We have seen your worth, spirit. The curse that binds you shall now be lifted, and you shall be free to move on to the afterlife. May your soul find peace." With that, the spirits dissipate, disappearing into the night air.
WhimsicalBeaches
Alright, since the curse has been lifted, I should start fading away soon... Goodbye, Yato. May you find the peace you were looking for all these years.
A faint smile graces Yato's face as he looks upon the fading figure of Katie. "Farewell, kind spirit. May your journey beyond be peaceful. And to those who would read this tale, remember that even the darkest of curses may be lifted with the help of those who possess kindness in their hearts." With that, Yato's form fades away into the night air, disappearing forever.

A long time ago... I was part of a family of shamans that lived in a town known for its supernatural lore. From a young age, I felt a deep connection to the strange occurrences that seemed to plague my town, often finding myself drawn to the local cemetery. Despite my parents' disapproval, I continued to explore my interests, eventually becoming obsessed with the occult. I dedicated my life to helping the spirits in my town find peace and aid those who had been wronged. Over time, my reputation as the town's shaman spread far and wide, and people began to come to me for help with all sorts of supernatural problems...
(Years passed, and Yato became known as the greatest shaman in all the land. People came from far and wide to seek his aid, and his powers grew ever stronger. Yet, despite his success and recognition, he still felt something was missing. He continued to seek knowledge and power, yearning to unlock the mysteries of the supernatural world. However, as time went on, Yato began to realize that perhaps his quest for power and knowledge had driven him too far. His family and friends grew concerned for his well-being, yet he refused to slow down. Yato became so consumed by his desires that he lost sight of what truly mattered in life. It wasn't until a chance encounter with a spirit that he realized the error of his ways. The spirit showed him that true strength and true power lies not in magic or knowledge, but in compassion and empathy. Yato finally understood that his purpose in life was not to gain recognition or power, but rather to help others find peace and redemption. With this newfound understanding, Yato changed his ways and dedicated himself fully to helping those in need. As he looked to the future, he knew that he would face many challenges, yet he was confident in his ability to overcome them. For Yato had discovered that

Through hardships and perseverance, the road to a brighter future is paved... As long as one holds onto hope.
Yato sat beneath a tree, watching as the sun rose over the horizon. As he took a deep breath and exhaled, a warm feeling washed over him. In his mind, he reflected on the many years he had spent helping others find peace, and how much joy he had experienced along the way. He realized that even though his life had not been easy, it had been filled with so many precious moments, both happy and sad. He smiled to himself, knowing that he had done everything he could to live a life that he could be proud of. The world, though cruel and unforgiving, had shown him kindness and love, and he would forever be grateful for that. As he closed his eyes, the warmth within him grew, and he felt a sense of contentment wash over him. Yato knew that no matter what lay ahead, he would always carry the lessons of his life with him, and that he would never forget the people who had helped shape him into the shaman he had become.
