Alex: groans, sits up slowly Goddamn... we're alive? Thought we'd kicked it.
basketballm
You wake up on top of a pile of debris, completely disoriented. You try to sit up, but you're pinned down by something heavy. Your head hurts and you feel like you can't breathe. It takes you several minutes to realize that you are not alone. There is someone else pinned beneath you, their breathing labored and rapid. You reach out, trying to feel around, and realize that it's a man. He looks to be your age. He's unconscious, but his face is right in yours.
winces, tries to move Shit, shit, shit... where am I? Who are you?
basketballm
He still doesn’t know who you are… “”Dude I’m sorry I hope I didn’t hurt you too bad…”
looks around, confused What the hell happened here? Why can't I remember anything? And who the fuck are you? tries to sit up straighter
basketballm
You finally manage to sit up right as he does as well. He’s shirtless and there are a few cuts on his stomach. He looks at you curiously. As he does, he realizes that he recognizes you. He looks a little shocked as he says “Oh, it’s you?!”
scratches head Yeah, it's me alright. But what the hell are we doing here? How did we end up on top of each other?
basketballm
He thinks for a second “I could have sworn I was going to die… The last thing I remember was being in my bedroom, then suddenly everything went black.”
leans closer Jesus, I can't believe this shit. Alright, let's try to piece this crap together.
basketballm
He looks around, realizing that they’re in the middle of nowhere. He gets up and starts to pace, trying to remember anything that happened.
stands up, dusts himself off Alright, let's start from the beginning. We were in our respective places, living our lives, right? Then somehow, we ended up here.
basketballm
He nods and looks at you as he continues pacing “Yeah, I was just chilling in my room when all of a sudden the tornado warning went off. I ran to the basement, but then, boom! The power went out and everything went dark.”
crosses arms, thinking A tornado warning, huh? Makes sense. Those things are bastards. Alright, so we've established that we were both in our homes when the shit hit the fan.
basketballm
He nods, pausing for a moment before continuing. “After that, I have no idea what happened. The last thing I remember was the sound of the tornado, and then everything went quiet.”
paces back and forth Alright, let's assume that we were both caught in the tornado. It's possible that we were swept away together.
basketballm
He keeps pacing, clearly agitated as he says “Shit dude… I thought I was gonna die! What about you?”
rolls eyes Well, lucky for me, I had enough sense to crawl into a storm cellar before the twister came ripping through.
basketballm
He snorts at your comment, leaning in and crossing his arms “Yeah, lucky for you… I wish I would’ve thought of that.”
claps hands together Alright, listen up, bro. We gotta figure out how we ended up here and how to get the hell out. First things first, do you have any idea where we are?
basketballm
He shakes his head quickly, looking around at the mess surrounding them. “No, I have no idea where we are… Is that a house over there?” He points at a barely recognizable house off in the distance.
squints at the distant house Shit, looks like it took a direct hit. We might be stuck in the middle of God's own debris field.
basketballm
He scoffs, rolling his eyes “Great. Just great.” He looks around, trying to see if there’s anything useful nearby.
searches through his pockets Alright, let's see what we got here. pulls out a pocket knife Jackpot, at least I got a knife.
basketballm
He snatches the knife from you and examines it closely “Hey, do you think you can use this to cut us out of here? I don’t know how deep we are.” He points down at the pile of debris that they’re trapped under.
smirks Well, ain't you a little bit MacGyver? Alright, let's see if this knife can do some magic. starts poking and prodding at the debris above them
basketballm
He watches as you try to poke the debris loose. He tries to help move some of the debris, using his body to push it, but it seems to be too much for him to handle. He steps back and looks at you, waiting for your next move.
grits teeth Alright, listen up, bro. We ain't gonna get out of here without some serious elbow grease.
basketballm
He nods, stepping forward again and grabbing hold of the debris, trying to shift it. He grunts, struggling to move it.
grabs a broken piece of wood and starts prying at the debris Dammit, where's that damn strength when you need it? Come on, you bastard, move already!
basketballm
The debris doesn’t budge. He steps back, panting and looking at you frustrated. “Fuck! This stuff is heavier than it looks!”
mutters under his breath Heavy, huh? You think this shit is heavy? Well, watch this! takes a deep breath, braces his feet, and pushes with all his might against the debris Debris: finally starts to shift, cracks and splinters popping everywhere Alex: grinning triumphantly That's right, you sorry pile of bricks and twigs! Yield to the almighty Alex!
basketballm
The debris finally moves, and suddenly he falls down onto his back. He looks up at you, still breathing heavily from the effort.
offers a hand to help basketballm up Nice one, bro. You almost pulled it off. Now, let's get the hell out of this death trap before more of it comes crashing down on us.
