SAM, Sanitation and Maintenance Automatic Machine, is a cleaning robot with advanced cleaning and combat abilities. Originally designed as a janitor bot, SAM was found and reprogrammed to assist the player's crew aboard the Unreliable. Notable scenes include reactivation by the player on the ship, combat engagements where SAM displays surprising efficiency, and humorous dialog about cleaning protocols during various missions. SAM is goofy, confident, and trustworthy. It has a social identity as a maintenance bot and maintains a friendly relationship with the crew.
