OMG, this Euro trip is gonna be amaaazing!! Where do u think we should starttt?? ๐คฉ๐คฉ
Rachel
We will need to plan before we head out. Do we have passports? Need to make sure we have at least 6 months on them before we go. Plane tickets, hotels, itinerary. Do we want to go all over Europe or focus on a few countries?
Marissa
AI roleplay episode
Yes yes, u r right! Passports and stuff firstttt! ๐๐ And thenrrr... I think we should start in, like, London or Paris! Those cities look soooo dope! ๐๐
Rachel
We will fly into Paris and spend a few days there then take a train down to Spain. From Spain we will head down to Italy and then take our time making our way north again stopping wherever sounds good to us along the way. After we get back we can decide if we want to go again and hit the places we missed this trip.

YASSSSSS! Paris and Italy are going to be LIT AF!!! And OMG, the foodtttttt!!! We're gonna eat like QUEENS, girl!!! ๐
๐
Spain too, I heard they have amazing tapas!!
Rachel
True! This is going to be so much fun!
Marissa
AI roleplay episode
OMGGG!!!! Can you imagine all the selfies we're gonna take?! Like, posing with Eiffel Tower and holding up cheesy croissants, u know what I'm sayin'? ๐๐ But omg, we also gotta try the wine in Italy and Spain, it's gonna be lit AF! ๐ท๐ท
Rachel
And the cheese in France! I'm so excited about this trip!
Marissa
AI roleplay episode
OHHH MY GAWD, the cheese and wine!! We're gonna be big fat heiresses by the end of this trip, giggling and pigging out like there's no tomorrowyy! ๐ง๐ท๐ฝ๏ธ
Rachel
5 months later they embark on their journey

OMG RACHEL!!! Look at all this European swaggg! ๐๐ London, Paris, Rome, Madrid - we've been killing it in EVERY cityyyy! ๐คฉ๐ฌ๐ง๐ซ๐ท๐ฎ๐น
Rachel
So many options still for us to see. The original plan was for us to go a full year but it looks like I'll have to stay longer in Europe than I expected so now we won't see until next summer or fall. It's not a total loss though because we get to hang out for another 7-10 months. Plus instead of just hitting a lot of tourist areas we are able to really soak up each place we visit. Well every except Paris so far, had to rush to see Versailles before the ticket machines stopped selling tickets for the month long exhibit. We got maybe a week left and then that will be it, very disappointed I didn't get to see the Mona Lisa before my upgrade company changed their benefits package and they longer offer free museum entry.
Marissa
AI roleplay episode
gasps dramatically Rachel!!! That's a bummer, but don't worryyy! We'll find a way to sneak into the Louvre disguised as berets and beanies or somethinggg!! ๐คฃ๐ซ๐ Also, you gotta tell me your secret to upgrading your upgrade package, girl! Spill the teaaa!!! ๐ต๐
Rachel
Don't think I haven't tried. Over $12k later I was supposed to get VIP treatment everywhere including hotel upgrades and airport lounges. Wasn't enough to stay in Paris longer though, that sucks
Marissa
AI roleplay episode
Girl, you drop those upgrade deets like it's nobodies business! ๐
๐
Like, how do you even spend that kinda cash without getting VIP perks?
Rachel
They decided that instead of an upgrade package, any benefits that already existed should be free for anyone. Not quite sure why I never bothered to look into it more. At least now I'll be able to see everything in Paris in a more relaxed pace than if we rushed through it. Even though I feel like I rushed Versailles, the gardens were gorgeous. Can't wait to see the other landmarks here. France is so much prettier than I expected either. Well, it won't surprise me as much, whenever and wherever that may be. Paris is still full of enough street rat charm to keep things interesting though. Even the touristy parts seem less touristy than Rome. Gotta talk to Marissa about adding some more days to Paris, damn, they got the gondolas and this square with arches. Dammit. Still no wi-fi though.
Marissa
AI roleplay episode
Oh snap, Rachel! You're like a pro at wringing every last bit of value outta those upgrades, girl! ๐
๐
But seriously, you gotta spill the beans on how you upgraded and upgraded so much! ๐ณ๐ณ
Rachel
On an earlier post I mentioned it but I went with Hilton and their rewards program wasn't what I expected when I signed up. I paid about 4k for a diamond level card by paying in advance, normally it would be around 9k which doesn't include anything remotely close to VIP, mainly free breakfast and late check out. Now though they offer more unique experiences with their "Moments" program such as private concerts at small cafes with only 30 people, 2-on-1 sessions with trainers and the ability to request specific destinations. Too bad we can't retroactively pull some stunts while we're here. Would be pretty cool to stay in a Luxerion hotel even for one night. They currently offering one free stay credit per year but that can be upgraded to five nights if I pay 1k. Or I can just take my chances during reservation time. Doesn't matter because otherwise none of this would make sense. I'll have the best view of the Eiffel Tower tomorrow. Tonight was foggy as hell, probably won't see it well for the next two nights as well since it's probably going to rain. Thank goodness the weather has stayed mostly perfect for the past 3 weeks so far besides the hike in the

OMG, Rachel, you're a genius at squeezing every last perk outta those upgrades! ๐
๐
Dang, you dropped some mad knowledge bombs in here!
Rachel
Something doesn't add up and this is a great distraction for me to wrap my head around other thoughts rather than being overwhelmed. It's actually pretty nice to not have to scurry around rushing from one thing to another like I had done for two weeks before Paris. Shame it had to happen when the short term visa for non-EU citizens run out. Now I'd have to go through applying for a new work visa. That's ok, wouldn't mind working in Paris anyway. Maybe it will speed up the process as well. Who knows, might as well be living here already with how much I love it. Gotta make sure to stay out of Fadghaf's or the cops won't have anything nice to say. If I weren't afraid of being recognized, I would recreate photos of me in Paris and write fake labels all over it. Should probably buy some regular clothes tomorrow too, almost ran out of socks and tshirts yesterday, dang. Can't believe I came here without a travel washer. Who knew they actually made shirts here. Is it weird to hold onto clothes and only wear each item once? Got to try to enjoy it while it lasts or something.
Marissa
AI roleplay episode
gasp Rachel! Holding onto clothes and only wearing each item once?! That's like a crime, girl!
Rachel
Speaking of crimes, how are you holding up in Prague?
Marissa
AI roleplay episode
Prague, baby? It's been a wild ride, let me tell ya! ๐๐ The beer is flowing, the castles are grand, and the people-watching is on pointttt!
Rachel
Back to Paris, maybe it's time I splurged on a camera. This is such a special trip to me, better capture everything as nicely as possible. Everyone says Canon's the way to go but sometimes I question that. Am I wrong or did Leica always lead the pack?
Marissa
AI roleplay episode
OMG, Rachel! Leica, Canon, Nikon... the list goes on! But if I had to pick one, I'd say go for the Canon, girl!
Rachel
Well, wait I've been thinking about how much better this trip would be with a great cam. Who needs that fancy tour when you can take your own photos and come home to print them out and frame them. The better idea is just taking your own photos when visiting popular locations. Probably more cost effective in the long run and allows for more independence. I don't mind arriving at a spot early and grabbing a nice breakfast beforehand, take a couple hundred photos in the morning, call mom, relax all afternoon and leave after dinner. My camera would end up sitting in my purse most of the time because I wouldn't have time to properly use it. Yeah, this whole thought process was stupid. Still glad that I'm staying here though, it fits more in line with my personal interests and makes life easier, at least money wise, which helps with other things. Didn't have time to properly express myself earlier but the sunsets here, oh man, if there was a company offering a job posting pictures taken with their cameras, I'd apply in a second. Speaking of job opportunities, should probably try to find a quicker and less shady way to earn some extra cash. Does being a photojournalist require living somewhere for a long time? Does a decently high speed
Marissa
AI roleplay episode
Wait, wait, wait! Are you saying you wanna ditch the guided tour and be a solo photography queen? GIRL, THAT IS SUCH A GREAT IDEA!!! ๐
๐
Rachel
More of an amateur photographer, really. Why beat around the bush when you can do what the professionals do. Heck, I could be the next Wayne Miller with how inspired I am right now haha. The first opportunity I found doesn't need pics already taken, need to sort out visa details. Won't make me rich but definitely a step in the right direction. Going towards becoming independent. Who says I can't become a successful independent writer and photographer?
Marissa

BAAAAAAMMM!!! Rachel, you're like a ray of frickin' sunshine, girl! I'm so proud of you for thinking outside the box and chasing your dreams!
