Fleck: sweating OMG, did that justโ?
KiwiTary
Hey guys! Thanks for joining the live stream this morning! We've started a Q&A with my friends that will be broadcasted at the end of today's live stream. For the next few questions, I'll be asking my friend Fleck, since he is the only Latinx person in the group.
Fleck: Hey, fam! ๐คโโ๏ธ Just got back from covering a major int'l conference & I'm still reeling from the experience ๐ฅ
KiwiTary
It must have been crazy! You've traveled all around the world, right?
Fleck: Yep, you name it! China, Africa, Australia, Europe, Southeast Asia, and even South Africa! The list goes on and on ๐
KiwiTary
Oh wow! What was your favorite place so far?
Fleck: That's a tough one! I gotta give an honorable mention to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The city's got this vibe, you know? It's like the energy of the whole city is pumping through your veins when you're walking around. And the beaches, oh man... ๐๏ธ
KiwiTary
Oh, that's awesome! I'm actually going to Brazil in a couple months.
Fleck: No way! That's amazing, Kiwi! Which part are you heading to? Maybe I can give you some tips or recommendations for places to check out ๐ฃ๏ธ
KiwiTary
I'm not exactly sure yet. Do you have any recommendations for places to go?
Fleck: Oh, absolutely! You gotta check out the Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro. It's one of those iconic moments that you'll never forget. And don't forget to try some of the local cuisine โ you won't be disappointed! Also, if you're feeling adventurous, go sandboarding down the sand dunes near Rio. It's a rush like no other! ๐โโ๏ธ๐
KiwiTary
Thanks! As you mentioned, I'm actually headed to Rio de Janeiro. Definitely looking forward to doing all those things.
Fleck: Awesome! Make sure to take care of yourself too, alright? Traveling can be exhausting, especially if you're visiting multiple countries. And remember, it's okay to step out of your comfort zone once in a while โ trust me, it's worth it ๐
KiwiTary
Will do! Thanks.
Fleck: And hey, don't forget to stay hydrated and get enough rest. Your body will thank you after long flights and exploring. Plus, a good night's sleep can make all the difference in having a great day tomorrow ๐
KiwiTary
Good advice. Now let's move on to our next question.
Fleck: Sure thing! What's the next question for me?
KiwiTary
This one's from Lizzy. 'How do you get your work done and still have time to travel?'
Fleck: Well, Lizzy, it's all about planning and being organized. I usually schedule my trips during my breaks from work, and I also make sure to set aside some extra time to relax and recharge. Plus, flying first class helps minimize jet lag and fatigue, which gives me more energy to explore the local culture ๐ด
KiwiTary
Nice, makes sense. How about you, Chaz?
Fleck: Sure thing! Let's hear it, what's the question for me?
KiwiTary
This one's from Mysteriousyperson90. 'Have you ever encountered danger while reporting?'
Fleck: Ah, yes, I have encountered danger a few times while reporting from different countries. It can happen anywhere, at any time, so it's important to stay vigilant and trust your instincts.
KiwiTary
Any specific experiences come to mind?
Fleck: Oh, there have been a few instances where things got dangerous. One time, I was covering a protest in a foreign country and got caught in the middle of some violent clashes.
KiwiTary
Damn, that sounds intense. How did you handle it?
Fleck: Well, Kiwi, when things started to get heated, I quickly grabbed my camera and started recording. I tried to stay away from the main crowd and found a safe spot to report live on the situation.
KiwiTary
Good call. Was there any point where you felt like giving up because of the danger?
Fleck: For sure, there were moments where I felt scared and wanted to just pack up my camera and head back to the hotel. But then I remembered why I became a journalist in the first place โ to inform people about what's happening in the world and hold those in power accountable. It's a tough job, but someone's gotta do it ๐
KiwiTary
Right. Next question for Mysteriousyperson90. 'What was the most memorable story you've covered as a journalist?'
Fleck: Wow, that's a great question! I've covered a lot of interesting stories over the years, but one that really stands out was when I covered the papal conclave in Rome.
KiwiTary
That must've been incredible. What was it like being there?
Fleck: It was incredible, Kiwi! The atmosphere in Rome was electric. People from all over the world had gathered to witness the selection of the new pope, and there was this palpable sense of anticipation and reverence in the air. I remember interviewing various members of the crowd and hearing their hopes and prayers for the future of the Catholic Church. It was truly moving to see the impact that one event had on so many people's lives. ๐๏ธ๐ฎ๐น
KiwiTary
Really cool. Last question for today. This one's from Yuki. 'Are you currently working on any projects?'
Fleck: Yes, I am currently working on a documentary project about wildlife conservation in the Amazon rainforest.
KiwiTary
Ooh, that sounds interesting.
Fleck: Oh, it definitely is! It's been amazing getting to learn about the incredible work that conservationists are doing to protect the Amazon and its inhabitants.
KiwiTary
Sounds like a cause close to your heart.
Fleck: Absolutely, Kiwi! I believe it's crucial that we protect our planet's precious wildlife and the ecosystems they inhabit.
KiwiTary
Well, that's all for today. Thank you everyone for asking such great questions. Catch you later!
Fleck: Thanks for having me on the show, Kiwi! It's always a pleasure to chat with you and share my adventures with your audience. Until next time, stay curious and keep exploring! ๐โจ
KiwiTary
And that's a wrap! See you guys next episode.
Fleck: What an amazing episode, Kiwi! I had such a fantastic time chatting with you and sharing my experiences with your viewers. Can't wait to do it all again next time! ๐ค Until then, stay awesome and keep shining your light in this crazy world of ours ๐
KiwiTary
