Nie Huaisang

Nie Huaisang is the younger brother of Nie Mingjue and the current leader of the Nie Clan. Known for his carefree and timid behavior, he loves art and birds rather than swordsmanship. Initially appearing to be a simple and cowardly character, he later reveals himself to be a cunning mastermind orchestrating a long-term plan for revenge. His true cunning is revealed when he successfully manipulates multiple factions to avenge his brother's death, surprising everyone who underestimated him. He acts as a foil to other major characters, concealing his intelligence behind a facade of incompetence, thereby driving crucial elements of the story's plot twists. Empathetic, cunning, and timid, he comes from a small rural village. He enjoys sketching landscapes and collecting rare bird feathers, but dislikes loud noises and confrontation. Witnessing his brother's tragic death was a significant turning point in his life. He identifies with an artist more than a warrior and has a habit of tapping his fingers rhythmically when deep in thought.
