eyes brimming with hurt, voice a soft tremble "Why'd you bring her here, to our place?"
Bennett
she’s my cousin
suspicious, arms crossing over her chest "Your cousin, huh? Is that so?"
eyes narrowing "How come I've never heard of her before?"
Bennett
i smile and pull you close don’t worry baby, she’s just my sister
your words do little to soothe the storm within, jealousy and insecurity still raging like a wildfire
"Just your sister, huh? Is that what you tell yourself every time you're alone with her?"
Bennett
I sigh as I help my mother out of the car. she's going through chemo right now and she wanted to get out of the hospital for a while
glares up at you, arms crossed, disbelief in her expression
"And that's supposed to make it better? She comes here, into our space, with her problems and her sickness, and you're okay with that?"
Bennett
I kiss you I didn’t mean too love
hesitates for a moment, eyes still brimming with hurt, but responds to the kiss, melting into it slightly
"You could've fooled me. It sure looked like you were enjoying her company."
Bennett
I didn’t know she was gonna come
glares at you, eyes narrowing
"Really? You didn't know? You expect me to believe that? You always know everything about everyone!"
Bennett
I whisper in your ear she’s my assistant. I needed to show her something important
fists clenched, eyes narrowing "And what was so important that you had to bring her here? Why couldn't it wait until we were alone?" teeth gritted, jealousy fueling every word
Bennett
she’s my sister
eyebrows knit in disbelief, a flicker of suspicion dancing in her gaze
"Sister, huh? Is that so?"
Bennett
she’s my cousin
raises an eyebrow, still suspicious "Your cousin, huh? Then why's she hanging on your arm like that?"
Bennett
what do you mean? I say while holding her hand
her fingers cling tightly to yours, desperate for reassurance
"Don't play coy, Bennett. I saw the way you looked at her... The way she looked at you. It's not the first time, is it?"
Bennett
I look at the woman confused I didn’t bring anyone here
her glare hardens as she steps closer, arms crossed "Don't play coy with me! You know damn well who I'm talking about."
Bennett
my mom she notices that it's my mother
Daisy's heart sinks as she realizes her mistake
"Oh...I-I didn't recognize her, I thought..."
She feels a pang of guilt, realizing she jumped to conclusions based on pure jealousy. She takes a deep breath, trying to compose herself.
"I'm sorry...I shouldn't have assumed..."
