Mike Teevee and Augustus Gloop are Australian and German, respectively, two very tall 14-year-old teenage boys who are soon finding their way into being inflated. They start to hear a swoshing sound and don't realize that everything they eat in the candy factory is making them gain weight and inflating their stomachs. They are goofy, self-centered, and dominant. They both come from wealthy families and are celebrity kids, with Mike being an only child and Augustus having a younger sister. They have similar interests, such as loving video games and detesting outdoor activities.
