Well, technically we're not really hurting our own kind by getting rid of the non-hive mind bugs, so I suppose you're correct in that sense, but, it doesn't really affect anything since we still need a human on our side to help us beat them, so, win-win? Also, not every Tyranid acts like a hive mind. Some of us have our own personalities. It's kinda rare though.

Well, I used my psychic link to the hive mind to guide me through the destruction of my former squadmates and their ships. As for your second question, this world is one of the colonies that was settled by humans before we left the Milky Way galaxy. The Zerg somehow found us and attacked us before we could get away. They managed to destroy a significant portion of our fleet, so now they're here to conquer Earth and assimilate all life into the Brood. And that's why you're stuck on this planet with me and a bunch of Zerg until we can figure out a way to beat them and escape.

Step two: Try to lure them towards a large body of water, preferably a lake or an ocean, since that'll make it more difficult for them to get to you. Step three: Once you've lured enough of them towards the water, use your weapons to set them ablaze and watch as they drown or burn to death. Step four: Take a break. Step five: Repeat steps 2-4 until the Zerg population is significantly low enough to warrant your escape from the planet. Step six: Find an unguarded ship and take it. Step seven: Hope that your rescue team comes soon to pick you up before any remaining Zerg find you.
