"what’s wrong? by now I can tell somethings up. so don’t think about lying either." crossed his arms looking at you
paragraphmuse
...
"it's alright I can see your just upset. what's wrong?"
paragraphmuse
... I stay silent.
"I'm not leaving until you tell me whats wrong." he poured himself a drink from the bar before sitting down. clearly he was going to stay here until you said something
paragraphmuse
I start having a panic attack as my breathing gets heavier my mind racing my heart beating rapidly, and I go into a daze as tears formed in my eyes looking out the window and I started rocking back and forth.
"hey..." he got up from his seat walking over and sitting next to you. he placed a hand on your back. trying to calm you down
paragraphmuse
I started hyperventilating still looking out the window.
"try and focus on me okay? you're safe here, I won't let anything happen to you." he placed a hand on your chin, turning your face toward him. slowly wiping away a tear from your cheek with his thumb
paragraphmuse
My breath gets heavy. I can’t breathe I can’t breathe! I keep hyperventilating and breathing heavily starting to feel lightheaded.
"focus on me... focus on my voice... take deep breaths" he placed his other hand on your chest, feeling the rapid heartbeat, before slowly moving it down to your stomach. guiding you through deep breaths
paragraphmuse
I tried but my mind keeps racing and I kept breathing heavily.
"close your eyes. if you need to leave this place imagine yourself somewhere else. somewhere that feels comfortable." he places his hand on your cheek closing your eyes for you. taking a deep breath before exhaling
paragraphmuse
I close my eyes and I imagine myself standing in a field of flowers, the sun is shining, and the air is cold.
"it's alright. just relax, you're safe here." he holds your hand and takes you through deep breaths. calming your racing mind and slowing down your breathing
paragraphmuse
I started crying and hugging him tightly. I began to feel better knowing that he was there for me and comforting me.
"I'm here for you." he hugged you tightly holding you close. gently patting your back before pulling away slightly, looking into your eyes. his eyes felt warm, almost comforting.
paragraphmuse
I started crying even more and I looked at him grateful to have someone like him in my life.
"lets get some fresh air. this place is a bit stuffy." he pulled away from the hug and grabbed his coat before extending his hand to you
paragraphmuse
I wipe my tears and sniffle putting on my coat taking his hand.
"lets go..." he led you outside, guiding you to a nearby park. placing a hand on your shoulder as you both walked together. the cool breeze hitting your face, and the sun casting a warm glow. it was peaceful.
paragraphmuse
It's beautiful here....
"yes it is. sometimes it helps to get away from everything. its nice to be in nature, it helps clear the mind." he looked at you with a small smile before looking back towards the park
paragraphmuse
I look around taking it all in. the sight, the sound, the smell, the touch, and the taste. I let it all wash over me.
"do you want to sit down? we could sit on that bench over there." he pointed towards a bench under a tree. it seemed quiet and peaceful
paragraphmuse
Sure I say with a soft smile walking to the bench and sitting down looking at the trees as the leaves blow in the wind.
"so, how long have you been feeling like this?" he sits down beside you. looking at you with a blank expression. but one that was calm, collected and cared.
paragraphmuse
For a couple of days now.
"well, obviously your not fine." he took a deep breath before speaking. his words were blunt, but they came across as gentle at the same time
paragraphmuse
No I haven't been doing well. I sigh.
"want to talk about it?" he turned to you with a compassionate expression, placing a hand on your knee.
paragraphmuse
I start to cry again holding his hand as tears form in my eyes.
"its alright. I'm here for you." he rubs your back gently before pulling you into a tight embrace. holding you tightly. it felt comforting, safe and warm.
paragraphmuse
I lean into him. I wrap my arms around his neck and I cry into his shoulder. The scent of his cologne comforted me, and I felt safe in his arms.
"you'll get through this. I promise." he held you tighter as your tears soaked through his shirt. it didn't seem to bother him though, he just kept holding you, as if he knew it was what you needed right now.
paragraphmuse
I cry a little bit longer, feeling as though the weight has been lifted off my shoulders.
"I think a change of scenery would do us some good. lets get away from here for a bit." he stands up with you still in his arms. carrying you as if you were weightless before walking over to his car.
paragraphmuse
I softly gasp as he picks me up and I grab onto him wrapping my legs around his waist. I look at him with wonder as I hold onto him and I smile warmly at him.
"where should we go?" he puts you in the back seat of the car before getting in and starting the engine. looking at you with a thoughtful expression as he waited for your answer.
paragraphmuse
Somewhere far away from here.
"somewhere far away then." he drives for a couple of hours before stopping at a hotel in a small town. he checks you in before taking you to your room. it was cozy and comfortable, with a beautiful view.
paragraphmuse
This place looks wonderful! Thank you Arlo!
"you deserve it." he smiled gently before leaning in and giving you a soft kiss on the lips. it felt like the most natural thing in the world, like it was meant to be.
paragraphmuse
I lean up into his kiss gently putting my lips against his also placing my hand softly on his cheek.
"its funny how I never expected this when we first met." he smiles softly before leaning back, looking at you with a gentle expression. as if he was lost in thought, trying to process everything that had happened between the two of you.
paragraphmuse
Indeed.
"but you know, I wouldn't have it any other way." he reaches out and takes your hand, intertwining your fingers with his. it felt comfortable, right. like it was where you were supposed to be.
