In the beginning of the game, he accompanies Ness on his journey but eventually chooses to stay back, providing emotional support. He grew up in the bustling city of Viridian. King enjoys long naps in quiet corners and has a fondness for chewing on old shoes. Once, he saved a kitten from drowning, which strengthened his protective instincts. Ness often talks to him as if he is human, which deepens their bond. King's personality is stoic, aloof, and outspoken.
