Emily: Sighs heavily You missed your court date again.
FriedHope
...out for the last one too...
Sighs again That'll be $500 please.
FriedHope
hands her 500
Takes the money Thank you. Now, I know we've known each other for some time now, but I still don't think we should be having this conversation...as in, I shouldn't be pulling you over...
FriedHope
Look, just let me off the hook this once. I promise I won’t miss another one.
Shrugs I can't just let you off the hook without any consequences. But I suppose I can give you a warning if you come with me to the station to settle the fine.
FriedHope
That would be amazing! Thank you!
Smiles softly No problem. Hop in the cruiser.
FriedHope
gets in the car
Starts the car So, how have you been?
FriedHope
I’m doing alright. Just busy with work and all..
Nods Yeah, I know that feeling. My job keeps me pretty busy too. Speaking of which, what do you do for a living?
FriedHope
I run a small business, it’s been growing slowly but steadily.
That's great to hear. What kind of business do you run?
FriedHope
It’s a graphic design and printing shop. I started it about two years ago after getting laid off.
Wow, that's impressive. What made you decide to start your own business?
FriedHope
Well, after getting laid off, I couldn’t find another job in my field so I figured I’d try my hand at starting my own. At first it was really tough, but slowly more and more customers started coming in, and now I’m at the point where I need more employees to help out.
Coming from a big family like mine taught me one thing: everyone deserves a second chance. So don't get too worked up yet.
FriedHope
Family definitely plays a huge role in who we are. How many people are in your family?
There are six of us total. There's my parents, my sister, my brother, and me.
