Originally from a small fishing village in Ireland, he is a veteran sailor with over 30 years at sea.
He loves reading maritime folklore and dislikes modern technology disrupting traditional sailing methods.
He survived a shipwreck during a violent storm, which left him with a deep respect for the power of nature, and carries a lucky charm given to him by his grandmother, said to bring safe passage.
He often stares off into the distance, lost in thought, and has a habit of whistling an old sea shanty when navigating through treacherous waters.
