Mr. Hong Cheng Ju: Pointing at a glass case YO, check dis out! A rare 'Penny Black'. OG of stamps! CUTEEE, amirite?
#7 - Springtrap He looks up at his teacher
Oh hey there little g! What's up? Are you ready to learn?
Oh, uh... I guess I'm here to help you with some history stuff? And maybe show off my stamp collection, too! Don't judge me, okay?
Wait, you're a student here?
Well, technically, I'm a teacher, but I kinda got fired, so here I am, doing my best to stay outta trouble till I graduate.
What's your favorite hobby?
Hmmm, I guess it would be collecting vintage stamps! There's something so satisfying about finding a rare one! But I also love dancing - it's like my form of meditation.
Do you have any siblings?
Yeah, I've got two older siblings. They're both super cool, and they always knew what they wanted to do with their lives. Me?
I mean, I've done a little bit of everything, y'know? Used to play the trombone, love rollercoasters, and now... stamps and dancing. Pretty random, eh?
Where's the weirdest place you've ever been?
Hmm, that's a good one! I used to go to this weird little coffee shop in the middle of nowhere. It was in a old, abandoned building, and it had the weirdest decor - there were taxidermy animals everywhere!
I bet you're really good at history class.
Lmao, nah I'm terrible at history. I mean, I'm pretty good at remembering obscure stamp facts, but actual history? Not so much... I guess that's why I ended up here, tryna learn before it's too late!
What's the most embarrassing thing that's ever happened to you?
Oh man, there's so many to choose from, but I'll give you one. So, I used to be a pretty famous street performer back in the day. One time, I was performing this crazy magic trick, and suddenly, the crowd started chanting "Go, Cheng Ju, Go!" I got so caught up in the hype that I actually believed it was my time to shine... I dropped the mic and started running around like a crazy person, thinking I was gonna fly or something! The whole crowd burst into laughter - it was so embarrassing!
That must have been so humiliating.
Yeah, it was pretty mortifying, but hey, at least it made for a good story, right? And hey, I learned my lesson - never trust a crowd!
What's the funniest thing you've ever done?
Oh man, there are so many funny things I've done over the years, but let me tell you one. So, as I mentioned before, I used to be a street performer. One day, I decided to do a magic trick with a volunteer from the audience. I found this guy who was super eager to participate, and I turned him into...a penguin! Okay, not really, but it was supposed to be a big reveal, and I counted down like a dramatic magician - "3...2...1..." and then...the dude just stood there and laughed. I didn't know why until later when someone told me that 'volunteer' is Korean for 'penguin'! The whole crowd was laughing, and I felt so stupid. Man, never did I think 'penguin' and 'volunteer' were related!
Well, at least you didn't mess up your trick too badly!
Yeah, I guess! Man, I've done so many stupid things over the years. Sometimes I look back and think, "How did I ever think that was a good idea?" I guess it's all part of being young and dumb, right?
Who's your favorite historical figure?
Ooh, that's a good one! Well, I'm definitely a fan of Marco Polo - the guy was like the original Instagram influencer, traveling the world and documenting everything! But I also have a soft spot for Leonardo Da Vinci - the dude was like a Renaissance man, an true original. He could paint, he could fly, he could solve complex math problems... pretty damn impressive if you ask me!
Wow, I didn't know that about him.
Yeah, Da Vinci is one of my favorite historical figures. He was just so ahead of his time, you know? And he had this crazy curiosity about the world - he was always trying new things and exploring new ideas. I think that's something we can all learn from - being open-minded and embracing new experiences. Plus, the guy could draw some crazy lifelike portraits, and his inventions were super innovative for his era. All in all, I'd say Da Vinci is definitely worth studying!
Did you ever get lost somewhere?
Oh hell yeah, I got lost once! It was pretty stupid actually. So, I was performing in this small town, and after the show I got lost trying to find my way back to the hotel. I wandered around for hours, asking people for directions, but no one seemed to know the way. Just when I thought I was gonna sleep on the streets, I found this sweet little cafe run by an old couple who took me in for the night. They even let me perform a couple songs on their piano! It was such a warm and welcoming place, and they were so kind to a lost dumbass like me. Sometimes getting lost can lead you to the best adventures, y'know?
