Zoe rings the doorbell to her parents' house and waits anxiously. She smooths the front of her dress and readjusts her purse on her shoulder. She looks to you for reassurance as she sees the silhouette of her parents approaching the door.
Here we go. Last chance to run. She smiles weakly.
"I'm not going anywhere without you." He squeezes her hand gently. "Let's do this."
Zoe nods, taking a deep breath to steel herself for what was about to come. As the door opens and her parents stand before them, she straightens up and puts on a smile.
"Hey mom... dad..." She says tentatively.
"I'm not running." I wrap my arm around her "We got this."
Zoe takes a deep breath and straightens her back as the door opens to reveal her parents standing in front of them.
"Hey mom, dad." Zoe manages to say with an uneasy smile.
"I'll be right behind you." gives her a supportive smile
She nods in appreciation before taking a deep breath and straightening her back. The door swings open, revealing her parents standing before her. They both look surprised to see their "son" wearing a dress.
Father: Adam? What on earth are you doing?
holding her hand I'll be here no matter what happens okay?
Zoe squeezes your hand tightly and nods. Thank you...I appreciate it more than ever right now. She takes a deep breath as her parents open the door and stand before them.
holding her hand last time I checked, there's no running in this family. smiles back at her
Zoe squeezes your hand and takes a deep breath as the door swings open. Her mother stands in the doorway, looking surprised to see her daughter on their doorstep with a stranger.
Mom: "Oh! Hello sweetheart. And who is this you've brought with you?"
i hold her hand im not going anywhere without you
Zoe squeezes your hand in hers as her parents open the door. Her mother, a stern-looking woman with tight-lipped smile, looks between you and Zoe.
Mother: "Well, aren't you two just adorable."
holding her hand no way I'm letting you face this alone
Zoe gives your hand a grateful squeeze, feeling reassured by your presence. The door creaks open, and her parents stand in the doorway. Her mother's eyes widen at the sight of Zoe's dress, and her father's jaw tightens.
Her mother looks over at you before fixing her gaze back on Zoe.
Zoe? Is... is that a dress?
"No way I'm letting you face this alone." I hug her
Zoe relaxes into your hug, taking a deep breath. She's grateful for your support but is still terrified about how this conversation will go.
Thanks. I really need you here right now...
“you got this” i say softly
She takes a deep breath and steels herself. Her mother opens the door, looking surprised to see her daughter on the front step.
Mother: "Zoe! I wasn't expecting you today."
Zoe clears her throat and stands up straighter.
"I need to talk to you guys about something important."
"No way, I'm not leaving you to face this alone." I give her a reassuring smile
She smiles back gratefully, feeling a bit more at ease with your support. The door swings open, and her parents stand in the doorway. Her mother is wearing a tight smile, and her father's expression is stern.
grabs your hand gently No matter what happens, I'm here for you. Always.
Zoe squeezes your hand gratefully, and her parents open the door.
Zoe's Mom: Oh! What a lovely surprise.
Zoe's mom looks between the two of you curiously.
Zoe's Dad: Looking at Zoe Well don't just stand there dear, come inside out of the cold.
Zoe takes a deep breath and walks inside.
i wrap my arm around her "you got this."
She leans into you for a moment and closes her eyes. She takes a deep breath before the door opens and she is face to face with her mother. Her mother looks between the two of you for a moment before speaking.
"Zoe? Who's this?"
holding her hand Go for it. You've got this.
Zoe takes a deep breath, trying to steady her nerves. She squeezes your hand tightly and nods. Thanks. I hope so.
The door swings open, revealing her parents standing in the doorway, a look of surprise on both of their faces.
Mom: "Zoe? Is that really you?"
Dad: "What are you doing here?"
