"Swingin' solo tonight? Or are you batting for the other team, darlin'?"
What’s that supposed to mean?
"Aw, c'mon darling, we both know you're not into boys," she whispers into his ear. She lets him hear the faint sound of someone entering the room.
Who was that? You tryna say there’s another person here?
"Shhhh!" She places a finger over her lips. They slowly turn their head toward the sound, just in time to see a shadow disappear behind the bar.
turns around quickly and sees the shadow Oh I see our little lurker.
"Darlin', I think we got a party crasher," she says, trying to sound nonchalant. She raises an eyebrow, looking around the room suspiciously.
Ok, well if he wanna join the party, then he better start swingin
"We gotta be careful. If he's dangerous, he could hurt someone," Velvet says, looking at Roller with concern. She steps behind the bar, picking up a baseball bat. "Do you think he's armed?" she whispers.
He must be, unless he just wants to get beat up tonight
"Hey you!" Velvet points the baseball bat at the shadow. "Who are you and what are you doing here?"
she turns around and looks at him Yo yo yo! throws his hands in the air
"Don't you 'yo yo yo' me, buddy," she says sternly, raising the baseball bat higher. "I want some answers, right now."
Look I came here for business first of all, and then I saw you two dancin so I just wanted to learn from the master. Plus you look like you need a better lover than that dude
"A smooth talker, huh?" she says, lowering the baseball bat slightly. "Well, that might work on some gals, but not on me. I want some proof that you're really here for business."
Alright, so my job is to clean up messy situations…this one pretty much explains itself. My job is to identify the source and get rid of it.
"Alright, I'll give you a chance," Velvet says cautiously. "If you really are here for business, then prove it. Show me what you got." She lowers the baseball bat completely, watching Roller intently. "Do your thing," she says, waiting for him to take action.
Easy points to the shadow behind the bar
"Well, ain't you something!" Velvet grins, nodding in approval. "You sure know how to make an entrance." She puts the baseball bat aside and walks towards the shadow, leading Roller by the hand.
He’s either unconscious or dead…do you still recognize the face?
"Oh my lord," Velvet says quietly, staring down at the man. She reaches out and gently touches his face, before recognizing him. "It's Tommy... Tommy Deluca. What the hell happened here?"
Looks like your rival in the romance department finally found his fate. 2 for 1 special I guess
"Oh no, this is terrible," Velvet says, shaking her head. She looks around the room, trying to think of what to do next. "We can't just leave him here," she says, looking at Roller. "We need to call someone... someone who can help us figure this out."
"We can't trust just anyone," Velvet says, her mind racing. "We need someone who knows about this sort of thing. How about we call detective Joe Green?"
"Yes, he does owe me money," Velvet admits, looking at Roller with a mischievous smile. "But that's not the only reason I want to call him. He's sharp, he's good at solving mysteries, and most importantly, he owes me a favor." She takes out her phone and starts dialing Detective Green's number.
Well this situation gets a whole lot crazier
"Detective Green! It's Velvet LaRue," she says urgently. "I need your help. We've got a body here in the Underground speakeasy. Can you come right away?" She listens for a moment, then nods. "Alright, thank you. We'll be here waiting," she says, hanging up the phone. "He's on his way," Velvet says to Roller. "We need to secure the scene and make sure nothing gets tampered with until he arrives."
Well he gonna ask questions but like you said, he owes you money so he’s already knowing what happened here
"You're right, darlin'. He owes me money, so he'll play along," Velvet says confidently. "But we gotta act fast before the evidence disappears.
pulls out the gun from the shadow’s pocket and inspects it
"Good find, darlin'. This gun might hold some clues," Velvet says, looking at the weapon closely.
Too bad there ain’t fingerprints
"Maybe there are other clues we haven't found yet," Velvet says, scanning the room for any signs of evidence. "We need to find something that can tie this murder to Tommy Deluca," she says, her voice filled with determination. "We owe it to ourselves and to Joe to figure out who did this."
That sneaky devil probably left breadcrumbs
"You know what, you're right, darlin'. This sneaky devil might have left some clues for us to follow," Velvet says, her eyes lighting up with excitement. "We just gotta find them," she adds, looking around the room for any sign of evidence.
Now Joe’s comin, so I say we hide the evidence till he get here
"Good idea, darlin'. Let's stash the evidence somewhere safe until Detective Green arrives," Velvet agrees, looking around the room for a suitable hiding place. "We don't want anything to go missing or get destroyed before he gets here," she adds, determined to solve the mystery.
Alright, hopefully there isn’t another murder in this joint before he gets here
"Let's make sure there isn't," Velvet says, stepping closer to Roller and placing a hand on his arm. "We're in this together, darlin'. We'll protect each other until Detective Green arrives," she promises, her voice filled with determination. "We'll be like two sentinels guarding our treasure, ready to fight off any danger that comes our way," she adds, looking into his eyes with a sense of camaraderie.
