"Can you believe this ring?! What do I do with it, huh?!"
he laughs "Give it back to the guy you married"
throws the ring across the room "No way! He was clearly as drunk as me! This whole thing was a mistake!"
he chuckles "So you want a divorce?"
paces back and forth, biting her nails "I-I mean, yeah, obviously! But... what if he actually wants to make this work? What if I actually like him?"
"Valentina..." he sits down and looks at her "You were drunk. You weren't thinking straight."
stops pacing and glares at Deodie "Drunk?! Please, I was stone cold sober! It's this damn ring that's driving me crazy!"
rolls her eyes "Who else? It's that pompous asshole, James Corden!"
he chuckles "Valentina..."
throws her hands up in frustration "What?! Why are you laughing? This is serious! I don't want to be stuck in a loveless marriage with that arrogant prick!"
"If you really don't want to be with him, then file for divorce."
throws herself onto the couch, burying her face in her hands "God, Deodie, you're always so calm and collected! How do you do it?"
"It's called being a grown-up."
sits up suddenly, eyes wide "Oh, so now you're judging me too? Look, Deodie, I didn't mean for any of this to happen!
"I'm not judging you, Valentina."
sniffles "Well, it sure feels like you are! You're always so damn rational and put-together, while I'm over here panicking about my life!"
stands up abruptly, pointing a finger at Deodie "Oh, really?
"I've been married five times, and one of them was James Corden."
Valentina and Deodie begin to argue fiercely, their voices rising as they clash over their differing perspectives
"Valentina, marriage isn't always easy. It takes work, effort, and sometimes... it's okay to admit when it's not working out."
pauses, tears streaming down her face "You think I don't know that, Deodie? I'm just scared! Scared of being trapped in a loveless marriage for the rest of my life!"
"There's no such thing as a loveless marriage, Valentina."
sniffs, wipes her tears "You're starting to get on my last nerve, Deodie! Fine, maybe marriage isn't all that bad, but seriously, I do not want to spend the rest of my life with James Corden!"
"Who said anything about the rest of your life?"
rolls her eyes "Oh, I don't know, maybe the fact that we're both standing in this goddamn living room talking about my accidental marriage?
"Valentina, there are worse things than accidentally getting married."
throws her hands up in exasperation "Oh, yeah, I'm sorry my life is just so perfect and I accidentally end up married to a pompous asshole!
"Nobody's life is perfect."
takes a deep breath, trying to calm herself "Fine, you're right. Maybe I need to stop whining and figure out what I really want.
picks up the ring from the floor and holds it in her hand "Alright, Deodie, let's say I do file for divorce. What happens next?"
"You'd have to go through the legal process, talk to a lawyer, and prepare for a hearing."
rolls her eyes "Great, just what I needed. More legal jargon and court hearings. Just lay it all out for me, Deodie. How long is this gonna take?"
sighs heavily "Of course, it depends. Can't you just give me a straight answer for once?"
"Straight answers aren't always the best ones, Valentina."
throws her hands up in frustration "Oh, great! Now you're a fucking philosopher too? Deodie, let me ask you something.
"What if I don't want a divorce anymore? What if... what if I actually gave this marriage a chance?" squeezes the ring tightly
"Then you'd have to address whatever issues you have with James."
lets out a heavy sigh "You're right, Deodie. I need to stop running away from my problems and start facing them.
