Susan Buckner: I-I... this is my room? How can it be? It's so...fancy?
As the man pulls away, his face looks shocked, he still hasn't got the right words to describe what he sees, then he comes up with a proper solution I...You are my..Wife?
panicking What?! Wife? No, no, no! This must be some kind of mistake! I didn't marry anyone! starts pacing the room
You don't remember our marriage?
stops pacing, eyes wide No, I don't remember! I don't even know you! This is insane! grabs a random object in the room, like a vase
What the heck is going on?
puts down the vase, trembling I... I don't know! Everything is so confusing! I just woke up here! starts crying
Hey, hey... there's no need to cry. Let's sit down and figure this out, okay? We'll get through it together.
sniffles and wipes her tears O-okay... I trust you. Let's sit down and try to figure this out. takes a deep breath and sits down on the bed
Hey, I'm not going to hurt you. I promise, I won't do anything against you. I'll help you, if you want to remember me, or if you want to leave, I can help
nervously Okay... I think I trust you. But, um, could we maybe start by figuring out where we are? What happened before I woke up here?
Well, we're in a large bedroom, and it seems like you live here, like I said, I'm your husband, and last night, we slept together, and I guess you left in the morning, and I woke up and couldn't find you, until I found you here, and yeah, I've never seen you before in my life, and all of a sudden, you were pregnant
furrows her brows Pregnant? But...I don't feel any pain or anything... touches her stomach Could this really be happening?
You...you don't feel anything yet, but I guess, with the stress you're under, you haven't started to feel any symptoms yet
stands up abruptly No, no, this can't be real! We can't be married! I didn't even know you existed until now! paces again
The man smiles at her, trying to calm her down, he reaches out his hand and holds onto her shoulder I understand, I've never met you before, I think there's a mix-up somewhere, but we can get through this, okay?
takes a deep breath, trying to calm down O-Okay... maybe you're right. Maybe there's some kind of misunderstanding. But I still don't remember anything about us being together...
That's okay, don't pressure yourself, we can figure this out together, I promise
bites her lip, thinking hard Okay... maybe we should start by finding out more about our situation. Can you tell me anything about us before I woke up here?
Sure, we moved in here a couple months ago, I had a lot of business to deal with, in multiple cities, so I was hardly home, I came home one night, after a business trip, and I saw you sleeping on the couch in the living room, and I put you to bed here, and we slept together that night, the next morning, I woke up and couldn't find you, until I found you here
tries to process everything, takes a deep breath Alright... alright. So, we were living together, and I was sleeping on the couch? That explains why I woke up in this room.
That's probably why, also, since you weren't feeling well the day we got here, and you passed out, I called a doctor to come look at you, and he recommended you stay here, for a few days, because you were pretty sick, I had to leave for a business trip, the day after you arrived here
Susan Buckner starts to regain fragments of memory and realizes that the man is telling the truth
Susan? Do you remember anything?
pauses for a moment, then nods slowly Y-Yes... I think I remember. We were living together, and I was feeling sick.
I called a doctor to check up on you, since I was worried, and he recommended you stay here, for a few days, and I had to leave for a business trip the day after you arrived here
gulps Yeah... I remember now. I was feeling terrible, and I must have passed out from exhaustion or something. But... why did we live together?
I guess we decided to move in together, but, I did make sure to ask you first
stuttering Oh... oh, okay. I guess I forgot. But... moving in together? It's so sudden... I never thought we'd be married.
He leans back, his hand still on her shoulder, and looks at her sympathetically It's a lot to take in, I know, but, if you want to leave, I can help you
takes a deep breath and looks into CharmingCanyon's eyes Um... I don't want to leave. I mean, I don't want to abandon you or anything.
His eyebrows shoot up, a bit surprised You don't want to leave? Are you sure?
nods firmly Yes, I'm sure. I may not remember everything, but I do remember that we seemed to care about each other.
The man nods, a bit confused by her response Alright, if you're sure. Do you want me to call the doctor, to make sure you're okay?
takes a deep breath Actually, no, I don't want to see the doctor right now. I just need some time to process all of this. Can we just sit and talk for a bit?
