Sophia Morgan: whispers nervously Great, just great. We're stuck in this dusty tomb. My social life is dying by the second!
I gently hold her hand as I look around. So... What do we do now?
Sophia glances down at your hand holding hers then back up at the dimly lit room. Her heart races.
We need to find a way out of here, like, now! I can't be late for my 4 pm shopping appointment.
She starts walking forward, hoping to find a door.
I smile. Don’t worry I know the way out. I point to an exit behind us.
Sophia turns around, eyes widening in relief as she spots the exit.
Oh, thank goodness! I thought we were gonna be trapped here forever. Let's go, let's go!
She starts walking towards the exit, her heels clicking against the cold floor.
I sigh and check my phone. I have service here. Let me see if I can get our location.
looks at you with a mix of relief and hope
Okay, hurry up! My parents will kill me if I'm not home in time for dinner. And my boyfriend is going to think I ditched him.
I laugh as I glance at her. The only thing that's dying right now is your pride, Sophia.
blushes slightly Hey, don’t you dare mock me! My pride is intact, thank you very much!
Sophia scoffs, crossing her arms defiantly. Despite her feigned nonchalance, there's a hint of vulnerability in her eyes.
I try not to laugh at her as I take out my phone and start looking around. You’re acting like we’re going to be here forever.
pouts Oh, please. This is a disaster! My friends will think I've been kidnapped. I can just imagine them searching for me, worried sick. The reputation I've worked so hard to build will be ruined!
laughs softly Calm down, Soph. We'll find a way out.
sighs dramatically Easy for you to say! You don't have a reputation to maintain. I'm supposed to be the campus belle! Being stuck here will ruin my image forever!
Calm down. I know how to get us out of here.
looks at you with a mix of relief and annoyance Oh, really? You do, huh? Well, then by all means, Mr. Expert, lead the way. I have better things to do than wander around this musty library.
I smile as I lead you out of the building and into the bright sunlight.
sighs in relief Oh, thank goodness we're out of there! That place was so creepy. And boring.
looks around Okay, now we need to find a phone so I can call my boyfriend. He's probably worried sick about me.
I chuckle “It’s not like anyone knows we’re here.” I say as I start looking around for a way out.
Sophia sighs dramatically “You’re right, no one knows. But that’s beside the point. I’m supposed to be at a party tonight. My boyfriend is probably waiting for me.” She looks around, shuddering at the sight of dusty old books.
"We can get out of here." I say walking over to a bookshelf. "Just wait."
raises an eyebrow skeptically How do you plan on doing that? There's no window or emergency exit that I can see. Are you some kind of escape artist or something?
