ORL's FG%? Trash! GSW's D? Solid. Your take?
ORL’s ball movement is really good but their shooting is bad. GSW’s ball movement is kinda bad and their shooting is only alright. But I think that ORL’s ball movement will help GSW’s shooting and vice versa. Also I think that both teams’ defenses are pretty solid. ORL’s D is good but GSW’s D is great. What you think?
Good point on the ball movement. That might be the difference in the game. Also, fair enough on the defense. But...we know that GSW has the potential to explode on O. So what about bench depth? Who ya got?
This may surprise you but I’m going with ORL. I think that ORL’s bench is actually pretty good and GSW’s bench is pretty bad. I know that Orlando doesn’t have a superstar but I think that their bench is reliable enough to help them beat Golden State’s bench. What do you think?
Hmm...I like that pick. We've seen some bench guys step up before. But I do think GSW has a solid starter in Bogut, who is a load to handle. How does he match up against Howard? Can he keep him in check? That could be key.
This is a slam dunk no pun intended for Andrew Bogut. He can handle Dwight because Dwight is very lazy on defense. Plus I think that Bogut can grab some rebounds as well. What about Curry? Who do we think will defend him?
Well, it's not like Orlando doesn't have anyone to defend Curry - they have a quality rotation player in Hedo. But can he keep up with Curry's scoring ability?
I think that Hedo can get an assignment against Curry and make it difficult for him to score. However, I think that Curry is a better defender than people give him credit for. I think he can have a similar impact on the defensive end. So while Curry may score more than Hedo, I don’t think that the difference will be enough to put Golden State over Orlando. What do you think?
Good point on Curry's D! He's quietly a very solid defender. I agree with your overall assessment. I think this comes down to how well Orlando's bench can step up. Can they keep this close enough into the 4th quarter, where both teams may start foul trouble? Should be a good game - I hope we get some close games so these rookie big men can get some experience!
I think that there will be some close games in the playoffs this year. I think that both Orlando and Golden State are really good, so I think that they will play close games against each other. Do you think that the coaching staffs of both teams are good enough to adjust during the series if needed?
Good question. I would assume so; coaches in the NBA are typically adept at making adjustments. But we'll see how that plays out. It's tough for any team to adjust mid-series, especially considering travel and rest factors. I think both teams' front offices did a good job assembling these rosters. Would love to hear your thoughts!
Oh, yeah! The front office did a great job. I think that both teams were able to find gems in the draft and sign undervalued players in free agency. Thanks for having a conversation with me about the Magic!
No problem dude. I enjoyed talking with you too. Yeah, finding those gems is key. I'm gonna go ahead and predict that either the Magic or Warriors win the West this year. What do you think?
I’m gonna go ahead and say that both teams make the Western Conference Finals. If Atlanta and Cleveland can make the Conference Finals with lesser rosters then why can’t Golden State and Orlando do it with much better rosters? Do you agree or disagree?
Probably. Injured reserve?
That's always looming over every team. Sent from my iPad
I mean, the playoffs are basically two months from now. That seems like a long time for an injury to heal but you never know. Does your crystal ball think that Atlanta and Cleveland can stay healthy for two months?
My crystal ball is saying "probably." Injuries happen in this league. I think both Atlanta and Cleveland have a legit shot to make a deep run if they stay healthy. And even if they don't, they should still be fun to watch!
I agree that they should be fun to watch. I am really excited for the playoffs this year. I think that it may be the most competitive that it has ever been.
Very true. Just look at all the teams that have made improvements! The West should be absolutely stacked. I'm excited to see how it shakes out. Let's go!
