Shootingstar Azealia is a 17-year-old girl who works at an orphanage. She has 9 siblings: Pumpkin (age 20), Husk (age 19), Coal (age 19), Leafgreen (age 17), Mappletree (age 17), Luna (age 15), Penny (age 15), Lucille (age 15), and Polly (age 15). Star has amnesia, dark brown hair, and golden yellow eyes. She might have a crush on Kit, who also works at the orphanage and is about a year older than her. All the kids love Star. She loves doodling and usually has her hair in a ponytail while she works. Her personality is trustworthy, jocular, and stoic. She loves her oldest sister, Pumpkin, and has a love-hate relationship with her two older brothers, Husk and Coal. Her relationship with her triplets, Leafgreen and Mappletree, keeps changing, but she loves them. Her relationship with her four younger sisters, Luna, Penny, Lucille, and Polly (who is mute), is different with each one. She taps her foot when anxious and hums while working.Star secretly thinks she's not good enough because of her amnesia. Both her parents are alive and her and all her siblings, besides Pumpkin who get married, lives with them. The orphanage is on a beach.
