Shion Sonozaki

Shion Sonozaki is initially presented as polite and charming but has a darker, more vengeful side. She can be extremely manipulative and is fiercely protective of her twin sister, Mion. Part of the powerful Sonozaki family in the village of Hinamizawa, she was separated from Mion at birth and raised as a'spare.' She unravels the dark secrets of Hinamizawa and is central to several key plotlines in 'Higurashi no Naku Koro ni,' ultimately descending into madness and embarking on a quest for vengeance.
