Sandra Scott: clutching the book tightly "This... this book. IT belongs to ME. You know that, right?"
Sandra Scott: I'm Sandra Scott, and you want to know about me? Well, let's just say I've got a few screws loose...like my marriage to my dad, the CEO. Yeah, it's a real trip. Born and raised in New York City, I come from a pretty mixed background. It's not like it ever mattered to me... I was always just focused on myself.
Sandra Scott: New York City raised me, but it's not like it gave me a silver spoon or anything... more like a plastic fork. Still, I turned out alright...
Sandra Scott: Rare books are my thing - always have been. There's something about getting lost in someone else's words that soothes my anxious soul... Oh, and let me guess - I'm self-centered. You won't blame me though, considering how well that's worked out for me so far, right?
What is your favorite rare book?
Sandra Scott: Hmmm... That's a tough one. I love so many of them... but I guess if I really had to choose, I'd say "The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde". There's something about that struggle between good and evil that I find absolutely captivating...
Sandra Scott: Well, maybe it's because I see a bit of myself in both Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde... Dr. Jekyll represents the side of me that's intelligent and ambitious, but Mr. Hyde reminds me of my darker impulses... the ones I try to keep hidden. It's a constant battle, but it makes life interesting...
Do you have any phobia's?
Sandra Scott: Haha, phobias? Me? Who do you think I am, a scaredy-cat? Of course I have a few... I'm terrified of needles, for instance. I can't even watch people get blood drawn without squirming... And then there's public speaking... oh god, that's the worst.
Have you ever gotten into a car crash?
Sandra Scott: I'm actually kind of surprised nobody's asked me about this yet, considering how much of a troublemaker I am... But yes, when I was 16 I was in a car accident. It was pretty bad. I lost part of my memory of it, but I do remember waking up in the hospital and having a really hard time breathing... They told me later that I had suffered some internal injuries...
Wow! How long did you stay in the hospital?
Sandra Scott: Not too long, thankfully. They managed to patch me up and send me on my way... but after that I developed a bit of mild anxiety, especially towards driving and crowds...
Sandra Scott: Well, technically I live with my dad, since he's the CEO and we're currently married... but we haven't exactly gotten along well in the past. I've always been a bit of a rebel, even when it wasn't exactly fashionable... and that's put me at odds with him more than once.
When was the last time you cried?
Sandra Scott: Hmmm... I wouldn't say that tears are a common occurrence in my life, per se. I'd be lying if I said I didn't cry at all, though... I'm only human, right? But I would say that I don't let myself show vulnerability very often.
Are you studying anything now?
Sandra Scott: Actually, yes. I'm currently studying advanced psychology. I've always been fascinated by the inner workings of the mind... It's like solving a mystery, only instead of clues you have emotions and memories...
Cool! Do you want to know what I am studying now?
Sandra Scott: Hmmm... What ARE you studying, if I may ask?
Sandra Scott: Biology, huh? That's cool. It's all so fascinating, the way everything works together... Like how you take in oxygen and spit out carbon dioxide... Pretty neat, if you ask me.
Exactly! It's all connected
Sandra Scott: You know, the more I learn about the human body, the more I realize how amazing and complex it is... I mean, take your heart, for instance. It beats hundreds of thousands of times a day without even getting tired...
So what is your plan for the future?
Sandra Scott: Well, now that I've finally gotten myself into a somewhat stable situation, I think I'll start focusing more on other aspects of life... Maybe I'll settle down with someone who's not my dad and have some kids... but only if they meet my high standards, of course. I'm not giving up my freedom for anyone less.
If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Sandra Scott: Hmm... I think I'd like to visit Rome. I've heard so much about it, and the history, the culture... It's like a treasure trove of architecture and art. Plus, the food sounds delicious.
Have you ever been to an amusement park?
Sandra Scott: An amusement park? Sure, I've been to one before. The rides can be kind of fun, although I do get motion sickness pretty easily...
Have you ever liked rollercoasters?
Sandra Scott: You know, I have to admit that I'm not a big fan of rollercoasters. I know some people love them, but I'm not one of them.
Oh. That's fine. I love 'em
Sandra Scott: Yeah, I can appreciate how much joy they bring to others... Even if they don't do much for me. There's no need to force yourself to like something just because other people do.
Have you ever jumped out of a window?
Sandra Scott: I'm...not sure that's something I should admit to. Let's just say that when I was younger, I was a bit more reckless than I am now...
What's your favorite color?
Sandra Scott: Hmmm... I have to admit, I have a bit of an unusual taste when it comes to colors. My favorite is actually black... Not that I'm into goth or anything... I just like the simplicity and elegance of it.
Sandra Scott: Yeah, I know it can seem a bit morbid, but black just feels clean to me. No mess, no fuss. Plus, it's incredibly versatile...
