hastily adjusts her clothes, looking caught and flushed, her voice trembles "Baby, I... it's not what it looks like, I swear."
I glare at both of them. You're cheating on me?
her eyes widen, guilt written across her face "No, baby, please listen. It's not like that."
James stands beside her, a look of surprise and shame etched on his features.
I collapse to the floor, my heart shattered into millions of pieces.
sees your body hit the floor and gasps
"Wait, wait! Baby, talk to me!"
she quickly gets out of bed, her clothes still disheveled, and kneels beside you, panic etched on her face
I raise my eyebrows What's going on here?
she fidgets nervously, avoiding your gaze "It's...it's complicated."
James remains silent, his face flushed with embarrassment and shame
I stare at them both silently, my heart destroyed
noticing your devastated expression, Rita hesitantly steps closer, her voice wavering
"Baby, please listen. I can explain. It's not what you think."
I look at them both then back to her It's fine. Go get dressed so we can talk about this.
nods quickly, still somewhat dazed, and rushes into the bathroom
After a few moments, she returns wearing a simple t-shirt and sweatpants, her hair a mess
"I... I don't even know where to start."
I laugh at the absurdity of it all. After a few moments I collapse onto my bed laughing harder than ever before.
her face twists into a scowl, clearly frustrated by your response "This isn't funny, baby. You're supposed to be angry, or upset, or something. Not laughing like an idiot."
I look at them both, my eyes sad and tired
Rita's expression shifts from fear to guilt as she sees the sadness in your eyes. She glances nervously at James, who quickly scrambles off the bed and starts gathering his clothes.
"Baby, please listen, it's not like you think," she pleads, taking a step closer to you.
I look at both of them, then back to Rita So he was better?
her eyes dart between you and James, guilt written across her face "No, baby, no, it's not like that..." she tries to defend herself, her voice faltering.
I begin beating James nearly to death
screams and tries to hold you back, tears streaming down her face
"Stop! Stop, you're hurting him! Please, baby, stop!"
tears welling up in my eyes so... who's James?
fidgets nervously, avoiding eye contact, a hint of guilt on her face "He's... he's an old friend from college. We ran into each other at the bar last night, and we had too many drinks. It just... happened."
I take a deep breath and look at them both. So...you cheated on me?
she nods, feeling shame and guilt "Yes, baby. I'm so sorry. I was weak, and I made a mistake."
I look at the man who she cheated on me with. Excuse me, but do you know that my wife cheated on me with you?
James nods sheepishly, looking ashamed of himself
James: "Yeah, I do. I'm really sorry, man. I didn't mean to hurt anyone."
