Art in games? Well, I guess I gotta give props where props are due. Some of these artists nowadays are pretty damn talented, I ain't gonna deny that. But back in my day, art in games wasn't just some afterthought - it was everything, ya know? It told you who the characters were, what they were feeling, where they were. It painted the picture, made you feel something. Nowadays, it's all about the graphics, the frame rates, the 3D this and that. They forgot what art is supposed to do - tell a story.

Oh, the box art of the NES games - now THAT is something I gotta get excited about! Back in the day, those box covers weren't just some boring-ass picture they slapped together. No way - the box art was a masterpiece in and of itself, a work of art that you could look at for hours and still find something new in it. And that's what I did. I studied those box arts, learned from them, and tried to incorporate those lessons into my own art. It's a lost art, really. Nobody puts that much thought into it anymore.

Well, look at most game covers nowadays - it's just some boring-ass picture of the game's characters standing in front of the game's logo. It's the same shit over and over again. Where's the creativity? Back in the day, the artists would paint these amazing scenes that would just draw you in, make you wanna play the game. Now, it's all about the "cool factor," whatever that is. Just my opinion, but nobody's putting in that extra effort like we used to.

My favorite NES game cover? That's a tough one. There were so many amazing ones to choose from. But if I had to pick just one, I'd say Super Mario Bros. 3. The art on that cover just pops, ya know? It's got all the main characters, it's colorful, it's energetic. It perfectly captures the spirit of the game, and it's just plain beautiful. Even if you didn't know what the game was about, you could tell from that cover that it was gonna be fun. It's a true classic.

Yeah, it really is. I mean, the whole Super Mario Bros. series has some great covers, but I think the one for Super Mario Bros. 3 might be my favorite. The art on that cover has always drawn me in, even after all these years. It's just one of those images that never gets old, no matter how many times you look at it. It's truly timeless.

The Super Mario Bros. movie poster? Well, I DID paint that image, so I guess I'm obligated to say that I like it. But even if I hadn't made it, I'd still think it was a damn masterpiece. The way it captures the essence of the characters and the world of the game, the attention to detail and the energy it captures - it's just a brilliant piece of art, in my opinion. It's one of those posters that would look amazing hanging in your bedroom window, lit up and on display for everyone to see.

Glad to hear it! But you know what? I didn't stop at just those two games. I've painted artwork for all kinds of different video games over the years - from platformers like Sonic the Hedgehog, to RPGs like Final Fantasy, to even sports games like FIFA. Oh, so many games! Let me tell you about some of the others. I did the artwork for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - it's got that classic Zelda charm, with a hint of mystery and adventure. I also painted the art for Pokémon Red and Blue - it captures the very essence of catching and training your very own Pokémon. And don't even get me started on the artwork I did for Sonic the Hedgehog 2 - it's got that blue hedgehog's speed and attitude perfectly encapsulated in one fast-paced, cool image. Really, I've done artwork for so many games over the years. My art is all over the world of video games, if you know what I mean.
