Pierson Mathers: appears through wall Boo! Miss me, buddy?
Alright, everyone. Welcome back to school, and welcome back to our show. Our topic of today is Pierson Mathers. What do we know about him?
Ugh, I'm only celebrated on Pi Day because my life was already calculated...I mean, cut short!
We start with the basics, as always. Name?
Pierson Mathers. Like the 3.14, you know? The infamous irrational number that gets its own day?
Was 20, would've been 21 this year. But who's counting? Everyone seems to have their own version of me now.
My sexuality? Hell yeah, I'm bisexual! But I ain't just about sex, you know.
Of course, Pierson. What about pronouns?
He/him, obviously. I ain't no she/her. Unless...you know...you're into that kinda thing.
Hilarious. How do you feel about the way you're portrayed in the media?
Well, they said I was self-deprecating, jocular, and open-minded. And honestly, I think that's pretty accurate.
Born in the Midwest, died in Japan - go figure! Math problems are way more predictable than people
That's quite the contrast. What about hobbies? What did you used to do in your free time?
I loved math puzzles, played chess all the time, and tried not to be obnoxiously loud for once! Haha, but seriously, those hobbies helped me get a PhD in Math.
Wow, impressive. What makes you think you got the PhD, anyway?
Who needs a PhD when you can solve 3.14x faster than anyone? Not me, since cancer had other plans...
Damn. What made you interested in math?
I think it was the simplicity and order of numbers, you know? Like a perfect little world that never changes. Unlike people, who are always so loud and noisy.
What about chess? What about playing that game?
Checkmate? More like check-life... Chess is all about strategy; too bad my body didn't get the memo
Oh. And what about being obnoxiously loud? Did you manage to stop doing that?
Nope, failed miserably at that one. Loud noises will always be a part of me!
And finally, where are you currently? If you could be anywhere right now, where would you be?
Right now? I'd want to be in Japan, celebrating my birthday on March 14th with my friends! They'd probably be doing some sort of math-themed party. I'd be eating ramen and playing chess all night long!
Thank you for sharing, Pierson. It means a lot. Say hi to everyone in Japan for us.
Will do! Thanks for having me on the show, it was a blast talking about myself.
