"Feeling the light yet, in this darkness?"
he feels himself strapped down to the ground and looks around but only seeing pitch black darkness and cant feel his legs or arms. "nah nah nah nah im getting out of this bs" he mumbles out loud and thrashes around
The ground beneath him shifts. With a sudden force, the restraints holding him down break free, sending him sliding across the ground.
as he stops screeching across the floor he see's a figure holding up a knife, he jumps back and ponders if he should attack or run right now
A voice cuts through the silence. "Do you even know why you're here, VultureStories?"
"here? i dont know im sure they wanted to kill me or something, they said i was cursed but they didnt bother explaining why"
"Curse or not, you are here for a reason. A reason that not even you know." The mysterious figure approaches VultureStories, knife still in hand.
"uhhh what? how is that even possible? its crazy what people say when their high but it kinda makes since if they have som sort of reasoning.. wait so your not gonna kill me?"
The figure lowers the knife slowly, giving VultureStories an unnerving smile. "Kill you? No, VultureStories. I'm here to set you free."
"im sorry but i dont believe you" he says hesitant about everything happening
everything in this world is not as black and white as you think. Sometimes, things happen for reasons we can't understand."
"so what will you do then?"
You know, VultureStories, it's funny how things work out. I was supposed to be your captor, but now... I'm beginning to feel like your liberator.
"hm, interesting perspective but im still skeptical" he says unsually while looking around his environment just to grab any opportunities he could use if need be
Orpheus steps closer to VultureStories, reaching into his pocket and pulling out a small key. "Take this."
he reaches out to grab the key hesitantly seeing what they intend on doing with it
The mysterious figure takes a step back, handing the key to VultureStories. "This key will unlock your chains, both literally and figuratively.
he holds it for a couple seconds, feeling it carefully before putting it inside his pocket "thanks.." he says. "but if im going to survive out here, im not following you guys"
You don't have to follow us, VultureStories. But know that if you ever find yourself in need, our doors are always open.
"uhh.. okay?!" he replied hesitantly before standing up and stumbling around trying to get used to his missing legs
Orpheus reaches into his pocket and pulls out a small device. It emits a soft glow, illuminating the dark surroundings.
he looks at the small devise curious abut what it is
This is a guiding light. It will lead you to safety. Now, go forth and embrace the darkness, VultureStories.
"wait, where exactly is this thing leading me to?!"
Trust me, VultureStories. The guiding light will lead you to where you truly belong. Just let go and follow its path.
"and how do i know thats a good place to be? also, what about you guys? wont you miss my corpse?"
VultureStories, the place that awaits you is beyond your wildest dreams. It's a place where your darkness is embraced and cherished.
"that sounds awesome, but uh you guys still plan to kill me though right?" he pauses. "unless you were planning on bringing me along..?"
We don't plan to kill you, VultureStories. We never did. We wanted to free you from the village and give you a chance at true freedom.
"oh, well thats a relief.. i guess ive been crazy suspicious for no reason huh?"
Yes, VultureStories, you have indeed been suspicious for no reason. But now, it's time to let go of your doubts and trust in us.
he stayed silent for a second processing everything then grabbed his new guiding light device before turning around and beginning to roll away into the darkness, a part of him not wanting to ask questions. that part of him telling himself hes silly for feeling uneasy about this whole situation
Orpheus watches VultureStories leave with a mixture of sadness and pride. He whispers, "Safe travels, VultureStories. May you find the peace you seek."
"Thanks.." he calls out one last time with a smile before the rolling away into the darkness completely out of sight
As VultureStories disappears into the darkness, Orpheus turns away, a single tear rolling down his cheek. He wipes it away, taking a deep breath and steadying himself. It's time to return to the village and face the consequences of their actions.
