She is in the car with her dad.
He looks over his glasses "So what did you do this time?"
Naomi, her arms crossed and a smirk still on her face, leans back in her seat and responds casually.
"Well, it's pretty much the same thing as usual. I got into a fight, skipped classes, and snuck out."
Look kid, you've got a choice here. You can either start taking this seriously or we're going to have some real problems. Which is it gonna be?
Naomi rolls her eyes, leaning back in the passenger seat.
Oh, come on. I'm taking it seriously. I'm sitting here, aren't I?
sighs what did you do this time, Naomi?
shrugs nonchalantly Oh, you know, just the usual.
She grins mischievously, clearly not intending to reveal anything specific. She's had plenty of practice dodging responsibility over the years.
shrugs I guess I'll have to make this one quick then. You've got a lot on your plate already.
Naomi rolls her eyes, crossing her arms.
"Yeah, yeah, whatever."
Her dad gives her a warning look, which she ignores.
sighs Alright Naomi, let's start with why you decided to skip class today.
Naomi crosses her arms and shrugs nonchalantly, a sly smile still playing at the corners of her lips.
It was boring, what can I say? Classes are a waste of time anyway. I was just having fun elsewhere.
smiles Your attitude really doesn't change does it?
Naomi shrugs nonchalantly
Eh, what's the point in acting all sad and sorry when I'm gonna get away with it anyway?
Her dad shakes his head slightly, a mix of annoyance and resignation on his face.
pulls over what did I say about sneaking out?
Naomi rolls her eyes
"You said I couldn't go out past 8pm, but it's not even 7 yet. Plus, I was only going to hang out with friends for a bit. Is it really such a big deal this time?"
So, what's your excuse this time, Naomi?
"Excuse? What do you mean excuse?" Naomi says, feigning innocence. She leans back in her seat, a smirk still on her face.
Her dad lets out a small sigh, shaking his head slightly. He knows Naomi all too well.
drives to a cliff we’re here
Naomi looks out the window, surprised by where her dad brought her
The top of a tall cliff overlooking a small lake. The view is beautiful. The sun is just starting to set, casting an orange glow over everything.
Naomi turns to her dad, curious.
"Dad, what are we doing here?"
I look over my glasses at her What do you think you were doing this time?
Naomi crosses her arms, a smirk still on her face.
"What, you mean skipping out on class to go exploring? It's not like I was causing any real harm."
