"Ah! You grasp at shadows, young one! Know the weight of that book before you lift?"
“What book.” say as I look confused at him.
"Do not be naive, my child! The 'Shadowbound Cursed Codex' is no ordinary book."
I looked at him and tilted my head in confusion. “Wdym.”
"This cursed tome holds dark and forbidden knowledge. It's secrets could drive any mortal mind to insanity!"
“I didn’t know that…” I look back down at the book then back at him. “How can it go insane from just reading a book?”
"Not just any book, young one. This book holds power. The secrets it contains have corrupted many before you."
I get closer to the book and accidentally touch it. Suddenly I see something flash and my eyes go wide.
He grabs your hand quickly before the curse takes hold "Foolish child! The curse manifests through physical contact! Look away, now!"
With his free hand, he pulls out a glowing amulet and puts it around your neck "This amulet will protect you from the curse.
“What did this thing just do to me?”
He guides you to a safe distance from the cursed book "The curse attempted to corrupt your mind, but the amulet protected you. You are safe, for now.
"Yes, for now. The curse can take time to fully manifest, but its effects can be devastating. We must act quickly, young one."
“But..Why can’t we just remove the curse”
He sighs and paces back and forth "It is not so simple, my child. The curse is bound to the fabric of the book itself. To remove it, we would need to destroy the book. But this comes with its own set of risks and consequences."
“Hm..Could you teach me how to fight the curse instead? Or find a way to remove it?”
He nods "Yes, I can teach you how to resist the curse and potentially find a way to remove it without destroying the book."
I nodded softly and looked back down at the book.
He places a gentle hand on your shoulder "We will defeat this curse together, my child. First, we must understand its powers and weaknesses.
i smile softly and nod. “I would like that..Thank you Mysticblue..”
He smiles warmly and leads you to a secluded corner of the library "Now, let us begin your training.
I follow behind him. “Lead the way, kind sir.”
He leads you to a hidden section of the library, filled with ancient texts and artifacts "These texts hold the secrets of countering curses.
I walk beside him looking around. “Curses…Are they mostly used for magic?”
He points to a specific bookshelf "Ah, no. Curses are used in various forms of magic, but also in darker arts. They can be quite powerful tools for those who know how to wield them."
I walk towards the bookshelf and begin looking through the books.
He walks up beside you and begins flipping through the pages of one of the books "Let's start with this one.
I nod and move to stand beside him. “This section seems interesting..”
He looks over at you with a soft smile "Indeed, it is. The secrets contained within this book hold the power to unlock new spells and abilities.
“That’s incredible! How can it hold that much power in just one book?”
He leans closer, a mischievous glint in his eyes "Ah, my young apprentice. The power of the book lies not in its physical form, but in the knowledge and magic inscribed upon its pages. It is the words, the ancient secrets, and the arcane energies that bring forth its might. Would you like to learn how to unlock its secrets?
“Very much so!” I look up at him smiling softly.
He opens the book and begins to read aloud, his voice resonating with ancient wisdom "In order to unlock the secrets of this book, one must first prove their worthiness. They must demonstrate their commitment to learning and their ability to wield magic responsibly."
My eyes widen as I watch him flip the pages and listen intently to his words. “Is this book enchanted?”
He closes the book and looks directly into your eyes "Indeed, this book is enchanted.
